Please recommend a book with favored excerpts. I am currently reading Life beyond death by Anil Sharma and it has a lot of interesting stuff to digest. It talks about the involution and evolution on the cosmic principles from what I gather in totality.I've yet to find a book on that.
Talks alot about the astral, mental and casual plane.

"Imagination is the first characteristic of the cosmic or world mind. Consequently it is also the first characteristic of the conscious beings who are its progeny. This wonderful image-making faculty is a natural possession of the mind. The faculty of forming pictures is as innate in the individual as in the cosmic mind. It is perfectly natural for the restraint- free mind to go on evolving pictures. This is the very same faculty with which one unconsciously creates the form of one's world during waking hours, but it works then under the stimulus of the world-image provided by the cosmic or world mind's karmic potential. The seed-like karmic energies of the world-image are transmitted from the habitat of the self (or the habitat of a part of the individual's cosmic spirit) in the heart and received within the head. Here in a sensitive centre within the brain's outer specialized brain centres break into the individual consciousness as one's sense - impressions of external world experience."

"The Etheric body is also responsible for controlling important functions of the dense physical body. Its etheric matter is divided into four types, each being instrumental to those functions as follows:

Describing the akashic records~
1.Reflecting Ether - This Ether owes its name to what has been termed the 'Memory of Nature'. This universal memory is part of the Mental world (concrete region) and records all that has taken place during the active life period of the universe (Manvantar - a period of manifestation,as opposed to dissolution or rest). It is also known as the Akashic Records (also called the akashic chronicle it is the enduring record of all that happens, and has ever happened, in space and time). By means of using the reflecting ether, clairvoyants may have access to this reflected information when required. We are told that all actions and even the thoughts of human beings are indelibly recorded there, making it thus an invaluable source of accurate historical data. However, there could be some difficulties posed for the researcher in that what is being observed is - we must not forget - a reflection and not always a clear one. It is pretty much like trying to see through dirty glasses. Hence, the best method to read the Akashic records with precision and accuracy is by means of direct contact with the mental world, where only very initiates can have direct access while incarnated. This ether is also the medium through which thought is transmitted to the human brain by the mind (or mental body) because it is closely connected with the fourth or highest sub-level of the concrete region of the mental world, which is considered as the home of the human mind."

"4. The elemental essence -
The word elemental has been used by various writers on this subject, to mean various different kinds of entities. This word has been employed here to express during certain stages of its existence monadic essence which in turn may be defined as the outpouring of divine force into matter. It is important to understand that the evolution of this elemental essence is taking place on the downward curve of the arc, as it is often called, i.e., it is progressing towards the complete entanglement in matter which one observes in the mineral kingdom, instead of away from it;consequently for the progress means descent into matter instead of ascent towards higher planes.
In the astral plane one finds a vast store of elemental essence, wonderfully sensitive to the most fleeting human thought, responding with inconceivable delicacy, in an infinitesimal fraction of a second, to a vibration set up in it by an entirely unconscious exercise of human will or desire. The moment by the influence of such thought or will it is molded into a living force, it becomes an elemental, or an entity belonging to the so-called artificial class.
Even then its separate existence is usually evanescent, for as soon as its impulse has worked itself out, it sinks back into the undifferentiated mass of elemental essence from which it came. When one visits the astral plane either in a dream state or in an altered state of meditation or after physical death, one is inevitably impressed by the protean forms of ceaseless tide of elemental essence, ever swirling around the individual often menacing yet always retiring before a determined effort of the will; and one marvels at the enormous army of entities temporarily called out of this ocean into existence by the thoughts and feelings of man whether good or evil."

"Another broad distinction between the rupa and arupa levels of the mental plane is that on the rupa levels an individual life force lives in its own thoughts, and fully identifies itself with its personality in the life which it has recently quitted. On the arupa levels the individual life force is simply the reincarnating ego who, if sufficiently developed on that level, at least understands to some extent, the evolution upon which it is engaged, and the work that it has to do. Mental matter is finer than astral or physical matter;hence the life forces on the mental plane are enormously increased in activity. Mental matter is in constant, ceaseless motion, taking form under every thrill of life and readily adapting itself to every change of motion. Even astral matter seems relatively heavy and lusterless. The vibrations of mental matter are as much more rapid than physical vibrations as vibrations of light are more rapid than those of sound.
On the four levels,i.e.,level 4 to level 7 of the mental plane, some degree of illusion is still possible, but it appears less for the individual life force which can function there in full consciousness during the physical life than for an undeveloped individual force after death, as explained previously. The lower mental plane is thus still a region of possibility and error, in it, and in the astral world, there is a serpent coiled under every flower;for if foolish and personal desires infest the one, pride and prejudices infests the other. On the higher mental plane, though there is much that the ego or the individual life force does not know, but what it does know, it knows it correctly. The life of the individual life force in the causal body on the causal or higher mental plane will be discussed in detail later.
There is a radical difference between the lower and higher mental planes. In the lower mental plane, matter is dominant; it is the first thing that strikes the eye, and consciousness shines with difficulty through the forms. But in the higher planes, life is the prominent thing, and forms are there only for its purposes. The difficulty in the lower planes is to give life expression in the forms, but in the higher it is quite the reverse, to hold and give form to the flood of life. It is only above the line that divides the lower from the higher mental plane that the light of consciousness is subject to no wind, and shines with its own power."
