Hello :devilwave:

Just found out about this new movie with a limited time run this Halloween (2020). Sadly for the rest of the globe, it is only showing in movie theatres in the US.

The rest of us will just have to be satisfied with the trailer.

Maybe I haven't seen enough of these type of horror movies but I think this is a pretty new spin on tech and horror. Adding the "Bloody Mary," "Candy Man" mirror legends to the ebook on the tablet. (I realize that it sort of has been done on the Buffy the Vampire slayer tv show with Malcolm - ancient ritual book scanned into the computer - but that was the "You've Got Mail" infancy of the internet.)
This is why the Mantis Shrimp is my new favorite animal,
because in the presence of such extraordinary light and beauty it embraces

DARKNESS,
It extols DEATH with the luminescent brilliance of a
DYING STAR

. . . The Mantis Shrimp is the harbinger of blood-soaked rainbows

This movie should be good as I see from trailer! It is something new and not like other horror movies where family arrives to their new house and they find a creepy doll or something like this. :Ddevil: I'm a big horror movies fan and I think I will buy it somewhere in the internet and watch it! Thanks for sharing this!

How come it can’t fly no better than a chicken?’ Milkman asked.

Too much tail. All that jewelry weighs it down. Like vanity. Can’t nobody fly with all that [stuff]. Wanna fly, you got to give up the [stuff] that weighs you down.’

I hope you enjoy it if you find it available to watch somewhere on the Internet!

The creepy house really is used a lot in the genre. It was exciting to see something that felt fresh, even though it still has some of the familiar elements to a tale of terror.

So one year later, almost. I got to borrow this movie from my public library last month. I figured I should update this.

This is a PG 13 rating. No nudity, no sex, no bloody gore, and I don't remember there being any profanity now that I think about it. But don't let that put you off. It is well written and well filmed. They did an excellent job of casting. My only complaint is the sound quality is lacking at a pivotal scene near the end. They do a fantastic job of setting up the suspense of the monster being present, but not seen in this realm.

I think they take a unique approach to the monster in this film, giving him the e-book to tell his story. Whoever wrote the script did their research on ethereal being communication. There's a scene that made my jaw drop, you don't see an actual method of receiving messages from "the other side" represented that way in a feature film (even if it was a limited number of theatres). Stuff my companions have actually done to communicate with me, was shown in this film. Gave it a realism that others lack.

The end was maybe kind-of predictable . . . if you've watched as many films and tv shows as I have. But it also shows another dimension of the monster, when you stop to think about it. I did enjoy it and would watch it again.
