[Just for Fun] Which Famous Author Do You Write Like?

I was looking for a completely different website when I stumbled across this fun little free web-based app called: I Write Like

You type or copy and paste in a sample of your writing then click Analyze and you get your result.

For fun I took the stories I wrote for past S&S events.

The first one, from the first Yule Ball, gave me the result: Stephen King

The next one, from the first Carnivale, the result was: Arthur Clarke

The next one; from the second Carnivale: J.K .Rowling

The last one, from the Asylum event: Arthur Clarke again.

So, yeah. Maybe take the results with a grain of salt. It's a free web-based app. But it was fun to see if the result changed with the stories I copied and pasted.

Try it, if you feel so inclined. And, please share your results. I'm curious as to whether they have more than just these three famous authors in their analysis.

It says I write like a guy from the early 19th century, which makes sense since everyone tells me I write like a Victorian and they can barely understand what I am trying to say. So I guess it has a level of accuracy to it.

Thank you for sharing your results, bayboychun! Have you read any of these authors? I know of James Joyce. I'm not familar with Cory Doctorow. But I'm very pleasantly surprised to see David Foster Wallace's name.

Those who can read Victorian are privileged to understand what you are trying to say, Noctua! I doubted the app because I could only see my own results. It's been great to have you and other forum members try it out and share your results. Thank you!
