Trustworthy Teachers

So I wanted to make a post about trustworthy spiritual teachers. Many people have already have mentioned this in the past and have been open about their opinions on spiritual teachers and so I would like to give my opinion on spiritual teachers and how I believe their reliability should be determined.

I for one listen and read from multiple spiritual teachers but that's only necessary for the path that I'm walking on. When starting out on your path you might come across many spiritual teachers who have the tips and advice you're looking for which is a great way to get started on your path. In the beginning I didn't necessarily want to listen to any spiritual teachers because in my opinion back then I thought that took away from your own independence, it was as if you had to solely rely on everything they said and they were the ones navigating your journey rather than you doing it yourself. I know now that's obviously not the case many people have told how beneficial it can be to have spiritual teachers to assist you either just in the beginning of your journey or throughout your entire journey. Having a spiritual teacher or many that you look up to doesn't take away from your independence, true spiritual teachers encourage authenticity and understand if you don't always agree with them. It should never feel like someone is controlling; forcing you to believe in every word they say it should feel as if they are motivating you and leading you in the right direction to your own personal freedom.

There is a variety of spiritual teachers out there. Whether you are just listening to someone online who you believe is genuine or reading a book(s) from a reliable author. Some have their own personal spiritual teacher as well who is with them to give general advice and knowledge that specifically relates to them and their journey. Many people within the spirit community even have non human beings they look up to as teachers. There is some information on here that was passed down upon people by demonic teachers. You have a lot of options to choose from it is not as limited as it may seem you just have to choose the ones which you best resonate with.

Now along the way some famous/popular teachers may gain a lot of followers that doesn't mean that there is some type of brainwashing going on. I'm talking about the type of people who are constantly praising the teacher, someone who wants extreme validation from this teacher and wants to strongly be like them despite walking in someone else's shoes. I know how they can give off that unsettling vibe that would make think twice (if you ever have thought about this, I myself have) but you have to understand it's the people and not necessarily the teacher. If the teacher truly encourages others to be true to themselves and you feel relatively assured in their words then don't let others discourage you. Some followers may just not care to truly listen to the teachers words they don't listen when try tell them to be authentic, they hear what they want and they choose to follow directly in the teachers footsteps. Trust your intuition always despite the many followers or conspiracy theories (they can pop up sometimes) that are out there. Also don't disregard a spiritual teacher who isn't we'll known either they can still hold within them a lot of knowledge that can greatly assist you along your journey. Trust what your gut is telling you.

A lot of this is basically common sense for some and others this can be somewhat beneficial to their own journey. I for one am grateful for all the spiritual teachers who have and are helping me along my journey whether they're aware of their impact on my life or not. I love how you can access and discover many things through the internet, most of the teachers I look up to are online. I am grateful for the internet for that reason and I know how much easier it is to connect with people nowadays then it was just 30 years ago. We have a lot more opportunities. The spiritual teachers I know have helped me in becoming more independent and authentic each day.
