Hi
I am wondering why do we live .
obviously I dont believe in religions or gods
the most thing that make some sense is that we live to learn and grow ,and develop the universe
but still why do we learn and grow
I am the type of person who most understand why for anything for me to do
a simple example ,why do we need to take a shower ,I will search for reasons and if I dont find a satisfying answer or didnt believe what others said because I dont trust their knowledge
I will stop taking a shower until I see and understand how why we need to take a shower and how valuable it is
after releasing my fears and being more open minded ,I am wondering why do we live
I understand how valuable life is as an opportunity to grow but I want a reason
how about you guys ? why do you live god ,fear or other reasons?
why do we live ?

I think one could intellectualize how one goes about life and any way you interpret it is right for you.
What I see is like everything else I experience, underneath the talking heads is the rot and chaos that fuels them. ie., need/want/desire/pleasure

Shit happens, usually to us? XD. Seriously. At least, I personally believe in reincarnation, so I will likely try again. As a vampire, I will not lose this personality or my sense of self like most people. Who knows who has it better?! They will be a whole new person, and that can be amazing, too. A new beginning, slate wiped clean. *shrugs* Pardon me, but I prefer not to die and only be a memory to my true form self....for a while longer anyway! XD Maybe next life my true form self will awake in ME, and we will live together forever.

pleasure is a temporary pain relieve ,if you dont heal the pain you will live depending on it
and I can even make pain itself a pleasure if I wanted
I was searching for something to fulfill ,I always since high school searching for something
after thinking more about it ,I found out that I was searching for something to value myself with because I felt as many people unvalued and want to be something and maybe something important
but now I value myself without anything ,I find it too limiting to value myself bya career or whatever
I am not sure what I am missing
I didnt get it, what is your point exactly?Satan's Hellcat wrote:Shit happens, usually to us? XD. Seriously. At least, I personally believe in reincarnation, so I will likely try again. Maybe you live to find a reason to live. Maybe that is the point of living, to find your reason.
I agree with what Cor said:
Why do you think you are missing something? Whatever your answer to that is or feelings that come up, I would explore that.
I actually wondered this myself before. I went around asking everyone I saw, 'What do you live for?' Not exactly the same as what you asked, but my own version of it when I was pondering things myself.
People's answers were surprising and gave me a lot to think about.

I think it comes down to this, my reason for living is not another's reason for living. My reason for living at times has changed over the course of my life as I have grown, learned and evolved as a person and it continues to change.Cor Serpentis wrote:I think one could intellectualize how one goes about life and any way you interpret it is right for you.

I agree with both of them, often one's reason for living changes as you grow and your perceptions change, especially when transitioning from child to adult. But I have a feeling you have already cast away your old reasons because they weren't sufficient and are now searching for new ones. It really is a personal journey.Eilana wrote:I think it comes down to this, my reason for living is not another's reason for living. Personally, I love knowledge and that has been what I've always been living for. It started off as an obsession with science, literature and mathematics. The frontiers of human knowledge. Now it's turned into an obsession with things out of the physical realm!

Hear the maddening whispers surrounding you
Feel the pleasant sting of those sharp nails
And draw closer like a moth to a flame...

as I said in the beginning ,if I searched and didnt find a reason to do something I rather not do it which will lead me eventually to knowEilana wrote:Maybe you live to find a reason to live. Maybe that is the point of living, to find your reason.

I believe there is no wrong or right in anything u do ,that is why you will never go wrong
the reason I asked was that I reach to the conclusion of not continuing life
so I thought maybe I am missed something

I will give my personal opinion here, but you probably won't agree.
I believe we live because we chose to. We chose to come here for the knowledge and experience . We stay here ( reincarnating ) and keep learning until what we wished to learn, we have learned then we return home. Home for me may not be the same home for you.
