Carnivale Event Listing - Sullen Doll of primal innocence

The third working I got from the Carnivale special listings.

Impressions of Your Twisted Underworld
“It is like a twisted fun house in here. These is a lot of things that are happening. They are a combination of things that appear stressful, but also fun. There is excitement and stimulation, but there is also stress and tension. There are aspects to this place that you can tell are at odds with each other. But these is a lot of fun and a lot of power here. There are slides and games to play. The landscapes continually shifts and there are a lot of layers to the energies of this twisted underworld. It shifts again and there is a beautiful landscape that is before us. The energies are serene but you can still hear the sounds of fun from the fun house. This is the surface. The fun house reveals the layers that are underneath.

There are sides here, they are characters, they all have their own unique abilities and talents. They all seem to be imprisoned and restrained. This is creating the tension energy. They want to break free and they want to play too, they want to embrace the fun and add their power and their ability to this place. They want to add their shows and rise from their cages. They want to show the world what they are made out of.”

***This is truly heart-breaking. The sides, the characters, imprisoned and restrained. I was hit hard by the underlying societal conditioning and programming that caused this in the most surprising of places. Shrek the Musical. The opening number "Big Bright Beautiful World" sang it loud and clear: “It’s a big bright beautiful world. It’s peaches and cream and every dream comes true . . . But NOT FOR YOU.”

Then again in Who I’d Be”: “But we all learn, an ogre always hides, an orge’s fate is known. An ogre always stays in the dark and all alone.” “A perfect happy ending . . . but not for me.”

This stems back to the ancestry, especially tied to what happened to my people when the colonists decided they wanted the land given by treaty. The fact that what happened to my great great grandparents was the way ogres are treated in fairy tales was a startling and disturbing revelation. Again from the opening number: “When they look at us, they tend to make a fuss. Burn our houses down . . . and chase us off our land.” Not safe. Not safe. Not safe. They are being protected from that horror. But they don’t understand what’s out there. Naturally, they want out.***

The Dark Child
“There is a beautiful child. She is joyful and fun. She wants to play and have fun. She has so much life and so much creativity to share. People have not seen that though, they have seen her best sides as an annoyance and they have shut her down. They didn’t understand her and they never realized just how amazing she was. So she sank. She lost something, she is looking for something. She is looking in the darkness. She is not defenseless, she has power within her.

Her eyes shift and they are dark, she has fangs and claws as she begins to dig. She is searching for the keys. She wants to release the sides of her, she wants to release them. She is digging and searching but they have been hidden from her. They have been concealed and hidden in the depth of the darkness. She wants to release them though. She wants to remember what has been forgotten and she wants to add her power to the fun.”

***I had a good cry while typing up the first paragraph of this section. Had to stop twice. I’m feeling better for it. I received the scroll of the working on Devil’s Night and I am still working on getting to the point where I can apply the messages to my life. It may not be until later in the new year that I get to that point, but there is a peace in knowing that there is a way to find the hidden keys.***

The Sullen Doll Message
“The Message for guesswho. How much power has been surrendered? It is an important question to ask. How much power has been surrendered for the comfort of others? How much has been surrendered for others? There is so much that is there, the potential that has been shielded and hidden, that has been repressed and denied. Do not let yourself fall to the shadows and be cast aside. These sides are there. They have never left, they remain, they are just hidden.

Find the keys in yourself, find the power that is there and let them rise. Let the heart unify and let the truth of the self be revealed. Those who are whole walk through life empowered and in pure confidence. They were never forgotten, let them out. Let yourself out. Let yourself out and let yourself rise in the power and beauty that you command. It is there and it is yours.”

***I can’t really argue with the Sullen Doll. There is another term I learned from book that talks about dealing with self-hatred and self-loathing. Soul Murder. So this is where they went so the people that wanted them gone thought they were dead and buried. No, I never truly forgot them. But most I never had the opportunity to get to know. They are strangers and I wonder that they don’t resent me for leaving them there.

No one in my sphere of influence could ever claim to walk through life empowered and in pure confidence. That is where my companions are there to be that example of something so foreign, alien and inconceivable to my mind-set, conditioning and programming. It was no accident that I was drawn back to the Satan & Sons community in time for the Carnivale and to have the opportunity to get these workings at that time.***

It's ironic but I was drawn to complete the Carnivale for a similar reason as you. To dig back up my true self that has been so buried all those years I couldn't even tell she was there. Best of luck to your journey. I am looking forward to seeing more!
