I have altars and shrines scattered liberally though my house. These are great tips for someone knew coming into it
As for comparing your altars to others, I would like to add that an altar or shrine will naturally grow over time. I have many that started out as nothing more than a candle. You will be pulled over time into adding it. Eventually one easily ends up with huge spaces like a few that I’ve had for years lol.
Yes I agree about cleanliness. Keep it clean and don’t leave offerings of liquids or foods for too long.

My altars are mainly downstairs. I am fortunate enough to own a structure that has plenty of space on it for all those that I wok with. Then next to my bed I have The Morrigan's altar. I admit that she has pride of place.
