Astral and Physical Altar things for the Carnivale.
Today's post is rather short and sweet, since I was already out doing the grocery shopping already and getting ready for the spring holiday. I noticed at Target they had these adorable cute little tea cups with a bunny in it. I was just talking about with my companions how Tea ritual is very important and I'd like to actually drink tea more with them, and low and behold there it was. It was under ten bucks and knew it would be perfect, as I could also use it as a little offering bowl on the altar, and surround the bunny with candies and treats from the spring holiday for my fam and the carnival demons.
My fam loved this idea, and I was happy to have something physical for the carnival. In the astral I was already thinking about what my altar would look like, silks and plushies, little fish that you'd win from my favorite fish game. Funnel cake and other goodies . I remembered the fairs when I was younger and all the games and began to map out what I would want in my carnival as an adult, including all the rides and such I loved as a kid. This also sparked some discussions over the coming week about what I'd want in the carnival and want to do at the carnival that really intrigued my companions.

I ended up shopping for the carnival altar this month with all five of my carnival companions. The primary focus this time was for Ro my jester (in honor of being a jester this time in the carnival) and Ryn my ringmaster (my companion of the month). The other three carnival companions each got a 2 inch crystal skull of their choice. Jenga, my muti flesh sculptor and lord of the freakshow chose a leopard skin jasper skull, Ever, my muti/chaos diabolist got a labradorite skull to have something distinct from Jenga as initially they both wanted the same thing, and my Zel, my chaos/noble contortionist, chose an aura sphalerite skull that they found very flashy and delightful, more so than the aura quartz we looked at.
Ro and Ryn I've been working on shrine boxes for to hold their little shrine items.
Ryn received a smoky quartz crystal cluster and a black flower agate mini rounded tower, as well as a garnet skull
Ro received a dark purple amethyst crystal and an almandine pyrope garnet, as well as a purple opal skull.
These were the gifts for the carnival altar this time along with the two shrine boxes. I cannot wait to do shrine boxes for another carnival companion next year!

So today was easter/spring holidays and this year while I couldn't do physically eggs. I was going to color eggs for my companions in the form of coloring pages, and on the astral I had a table set up with eggs and dyes and gemstones and all kinds of fun things to decorate eggs with. So I spent a few good hours, colored a few eggs for my closest companions, especially my husbands. One of my companions made a Karlach from Baldur's Gate 3, it even glows and has little horns and her get up. Some of my companions fasioned gemstone eggs, while others had stone and kintsugi filled cracks. Others had tiedye and glowing eggs. My spirit fam really enjoyed this experience , hell there were even some dinosaur sized eggs that got decorated.
I know for dinner that night on the astral it was a lot of baked goods and eggs of various types and styles ! It was over 100 dishes and I'm kinda jealous I couldn't eat with them cuz boy seeing that table full of food looked divine!

So in preperation to do the Carousel, which at this point I haven't done yet, I started to do some inner child healing with my fam. I haven't seen or ridden on a carousel since I was a small girl, and as an adult it'd be kinda hard to find one since they all have weight requirements ( which I understand ) My astral fam was not amused by this and decided to presant me with a present .
I found myself at a carousel not in the physical but in the astral, to a place that was a lot like the SnS carnival but felt more adjacent to? Like it was part of my own inner carnival I was finally exploring and learning to uncover. I found myself at the gates of this massive thing, easily three times the size of a normal carousel, with dozens and dozens of animals all inside it.
One of my companions led out from the carousel as it stopped spinning , a gorgeous grey dapple stallion with what appeared to be cloud on his back for his carousel tack, and a gold and ivory swirled pole. His eyes were blue, and his matching deep blue hooves had silver horseshoes. His nickname on his bridle read Lucky, and he had a softly curled mane and he smelled like fresh rainfall in the spring.
He was gorgeous, and his lips were velvety and soft as they nibbled my fingers as I reached up to pet him, and as his bridle was given to me I couldn't help but start to cry. They called him a Living Relic, matched to me from my childhood. I will admit I cried harder. He felt warm and soft like a brand new fuzzy blanket, and he smelled divine and made me feel like if only for those next few moments, everything was going to be ok .

Astral Altar Decoration
I missed and had to edit this one to -face palm-
The beginning of my altar strangely enough was actually the bingo board printed out . My companions had the idea to color it, and to make it look like the big top tent of a circus. I couldn't well color it as much as I liked with the detail I desired, because then I wouldn't be able to see or read or mark off the boxes, but it was the beginnings of the portal with my fam that we are enjoying.
On the astral however is a different story, the beginnings of my own carnival was taking hold. A huge carousel, black light paints and effects on all the rides and people in make up, squishmellows in black light colors as prizes and decoration for some areas of the carnival. Beanie babies manning the booths and giving out prizes, funnel cake with edible sparkly glitter toppings and fresh straw berry or other fruit slices. Music from all different eras played into a symphony that had my head spinning. The sky looked like it had a billion glow in the dark stars, and dancing meteorites fly as flying stars in the sky. It was like something out of a kids dream, and I even saw people walk by with cotton candy on sticks that were bigger than a small child. I didn't get to explore so much of the rides on this altar that also was a carnival, but the ground did feel empowered and fun, and I enjoyed every single second of it while I was there.

Considering most of my meditations has included a demon near a cotton candy machine, I had assumed he would be some sort of calling. But, I haven't really felt it. Part of me thinks he keeps showing up for the Carnivale kitten. He feels more like a visitor than anything else.
But you know what DOES feel like a calling? This last round of prebounds had me seeing a demon on a unicycle. He's juggling flames, breathing it in, blowing it out, and dancing around with it. Every listing I clicked on, he was there, right in my face. Almost as if saying, HEY, LOOK AT ME! Well, I am looking. I've emailed, and I'm trying to bring him home!

Earlier this month, in the first week (I can't remember which day but I remember talking about in discord), I took the day relaxing to watch carnival themed movies with my companions. I recall this specifically because my jest Ro picked out a horror movie called the Jester (though it was from a Halloween carnival instead of a spring carnival, it still fit). There were a couple of other movies that we watched but that was the one that stuck in my head.

This year the Carnivale Meditations were intense, responding to the soul and with insights.
It seems that it continued from last year.
And I did Funhouse and Ferris Wheel Meditation together with Lord Mammon.
He made my experiences more confident and intense
with golden energies.
What a honor to join the Carnivale Event with Lord Mammon.
I am so grateful

Since all I have at the time of posting is a lil carnival kitten, I’m not sure what I’m looking for in the way of items for an altar. But I’ve found a few circus themed decorations on Etsy I’d like to incorporate into an astral altar. Almost reminds me of circus animal cookies. They’re little train car dioramas made to look like circus tents. One with a brass elephant catches my eye. I also see a ferris wheel made for treats. There’s also a brown bear in a tutu advertised as a cake topper.
I’m going to talk over all this imagery with some of my companions to see what we can come up with for an astral space!

Decorating my astral space for Carnivale:
I wander off to my astral space, which is a large gothic styled castle at the edge of a cliff and overlooking the ocean. It’s inspired by a part of the infernal forest I saw in a meditation once. I’ve always wondered if that’s where the castle actually is but that’s content for a different post.
It wasn’t intended to be a serious thought but I mention tossing the carnival decorations into the solution room to see what pops out. My husband? Offhandedly says that it’s not a solution room. It’s a manifestation room. To which, I spin around and give him the most confused look because I thought we’d built a solution room. “Well, we built you a manifestation room,” he shrugs. Probably why I’ve never gotten a solution to the few things I tossed in there.
So, I go back to looking around this massive “ back yard “ to my castle. Most of what I see is taken up by the labyrinth Duke Focalor had me build. A labyrinth I’m still too scared to get to the middle of. One that also still has a few pumpkins decorating it courtesy of Mischief, one of my Halloween cats. But, I feel bad propping up more things against the maze.
As I’m looking around trying to figure out where the heck to put something for Carnivale, Lady Hekate walks up to me. She’s been in my space more than King Asmodeus lately. Seeing her isn’t a surprise. What is a surprise, however, is when she points towards the edge of the cliff and I see a short bridge that leads to a circular landing. That hadn’t been there previously. The fire is a large bonfire set in a brass container that reminds me of a goblet. But, you know, large fire sized. Seeing it makes me think of an energy I emailed the coven about.
Perfect!
My husband helps me decorate the bridge with those triangular colored flags. Then, we build four tented stands. Two on each side. On the left is a sweets tent inspired by the cotton candy demon I keep seeing in the meditations. There’s a cotton candy machine in the middle for anyone to use plus other things in shelves lining the fabric “walls.” Next to that is a tent that only has a carousel horse. The plot twist? It’s a giant scratching post for all the cats. The horse is made out of that corrugated cardboard stuff so they can all use it to their heart’s content.
On the right is a ring toss game. The one with all those glass milk bottles close together and you have to get the ring over the lip. The final tent is a darker divination tent inspired by the one I see Madam Orna in. There’s a round table covered in dark velvet and a clear crystal ball in the middle. Not sure who’s going to sit in it yet but I didn’t really think about what the tents would be, if that makes sense. The contents appeared once the tents were erected.
