"What Halloween Means To Me"

You know, I pondered this one a lot. I wasn't really sure on what the answer is still. In some ways, Halloween is a reminder of how much the world has changed. Costumes have become even lower quality, candy has gone through the roof in prices, the slop they try to sell at premium rates as "decor".

But, I try to look at it outside of "modern human stuck in a world of an attention economy", and try to see it through the eyes of others. In this case, my companions. To them, even though they agree on how Halloween looks for humans now, it's not quite so simple.

Halloween is a lot like Christmas they show me. It's origins and fusions over the years make a Holiday for everyone. Putting out special grown gourds to protect our homes and guide Trick or Treaters, whether one has them visit or not, is something people have taken into art forms. Into spectacular shows of artistry and fun. It's fun! Who cares if inflatable black cats wouldn't be "traditional"? It's how you feel about the season, not what it looks like.

It's been interesting sitting with them, looking at how things are. I put a real candle in my pumpkin this year, a delight to my jack o lantern and pumpkin souls. They love adding someone new to the patch. So why shouldn't I consider that my holiday spirit?

"Explore an SnS Race"

This was actually interesting, since the comparison of different races/species popped up a lot over the past two months.

Something I was curious about was my beasts, since all of my SnS Beasts have some strange attachment to the dead.

For this particular post, I'll be writing about my Void Walrus, Baby.

He made himself *very* front and center during the Underworld Caravan. Which surprised me. Why did my void beast shove his way through for this event?

Well, one because he can haha. And two, he wanted me to see things as he has seen them. Through his endless void ocean. Through the songs and words he remembers. The ghosts he knows in the depths and lairs above. When I think about it, of course the Void Walrus makes sense for this time of year. The time when the dead want to hear melodies they use to know, to be recognized and remembered again. He is an ancient being, and claims to be even older than me. The oldest being within my merry band of mischief. The void has always been, but him? He's been here a long time before that. So why not see through his eyes on what he's seen over the eons of waves of souls. Both mortal and immortal.

He's funny, with his ever shifting glow. Almost like a ghost in his dark night waters. His melodies are really ghost stories. So, for this Caravan adventure, he stepped forward from his beach home to show me the ghostly songs on the depths below.

This has been an amazing journey! I'm excited that there is one more meditation.
Several things have come up for me personally. One is to embrace the primal and let go of fearing it. It's part of our natural selves and quite beautiful.
Another is that I've grown weary and so it's time to play games and enjoy life again. Being disquieted by the labyrinth yet embracing the voidal spaces clearly demonstrated that for me.
Also, the three me's that presented in the Well all had messages for me. I really appreciate that! The first two are so similar to my current form - Neanderthal & Large Tree. The third is a Demon & I suddenly have more questions than answers about myself. Which is Refreshing!
