So, what exactly does the dark path have to offer that differs from it's light path counter part?

from my experience:

#1 . . . shadow work. I don't know of anyone RHP that does shadow work. And, I've known a few. If there are RHP people who do shadow work, good for them.

other than that, doing baleful / malefic / execration magic when we feel the need or are so moved. Again, the RHP peeps I know shudder at the thought.

It's not about what makes one path better, by and of itself, than another. It's about the path that fits where you are on your journey at any given time.
Think of it like a map...
A map of Germany might be invaluable if you're on the Autobon trying to get to the Eagle's Nest, but it won't help you're on I-35 trying to get to Disney Land

Not sure about the shadow work but as far any spell being good or bad it would for the most part would have to depend on the intent of the user.

The two, in my opinion, should not be compared. Instead, one needs to ask themself what they want, and then walk the path that compliments/supports their desires.

Also want to add that one path is not “better” than the other. It is about which path compliments you personally, the most. It is quite easy to see the differences, but both paths are equally valid.
