I’m hesitant to bring this up, but it seems like
The Forums became quiet since the start of Apr.

I for 1 would like to address the elephant in the room.

What do you guys say?

Cheers,
John

The Forum is an incredibly slow moving place, as most forums are. It’s because most post in their own blog when there are not events. Events are what draw people to be active in the forum.

Yeah, Ysa is right. The forms aren't very active until events usually, but there is a discord that is usually more active. I pop in and out sometimes but I haven't really posted anything in a while unless something really catches my attention.

When I joined in 2017 Discord wasn't part of the board yet. It seemed to me that there was much more "socializing" on the board then, people posting personal stuff and generally hanging out. My theory is that Discord drew a lot of that away. People didn't leave, well, some did, it's what happens on any board, they simply decided discord was a better venue for hanging out.

Personally, I'm not real big on Discord, and I miss the socializing that was once much more common here, but that's the nature of change. I don't know, and I don't know how to find out, but I suspect there are just as many members now as there were in 17, it just doesn't seem like it because cuz the party moved to a different room in the house, so to speak. :devilparty:

My experience is that all forums are cyclical in nature with periods of lots of activity and then periods of quiet. I think it is pretty normal.

I, for one, am not particularly social and tend not to talk much unless I think I actually have something to say.

I personally am a watcher from the shadows who only steps in if I wish to share (which is rare) or need to rectify an issue that I have seen developing (even rarer).

I prefer forums but that could be an age related issue, I do feel that socialisation now mainly occurs on the Discord. Another factor is life gets in the way. If you think that those who were around in 2017 are some of those around now, we all aged, and jobs change / life situations etc and so our time becomes split.
