Raven's 2013 Parastock Chakra Seminar

Close your eyes after reading this, and look for the root chakra. It will probably look a bit fuzzy. You're looking for a reddish orb of energy that has four petals around it.

Another way to check your chakras is by feel. You have chakras in your palm. You can ask your spirit guides to open them, and rub your hands very briskly together for a few moments. As you pull them apart, you will feel them tingle. You can then wave your hand through your aura over the various locations of the chakras, and sense them with your palms. This will tell you information that drawing can't... such as WHY a chakra has a certain thing going on inside it.

On hand Chakras: your dominant hand is all about projection and protection. Your receptive hand is all about drawing in, but also taps into self-knowledge. You can use your left hand to check your chakras and your aura to tell you things about what's going on with you. To activate them, request that your guides activate them, rub your hands briskly, and stretch them apart slowly until you feel the chakras open. Your hands will heat up and tingle.

Now, close your eyes, and picture a ball of white light. Focus on this light as coming from the core of the universe. The intent is that this light is perfect for you - it's for your highest good, it is unconditionally loving of YOUR energy frequency, and deeply healing.

The sacral plexus is orange, and has six petals. It is located two inches below your belly button and is centered between your back and front. All chakras are considered to be aligned with the spine, but this chakra can sometimes drift to the left a bit.
Locate your sacral plexus in the same way that you did the root chakra - either with activated palm chakras, or with visualization.

Between your root chakra and your sacral plexus, there are three main channels and two minor channels.
The central channel is the widest. It's called the Sushumni channel. The outside two that wrap AROUND the chakras but do not connect TO the chakras are called Ida (right) and Pingala (leftI) nadir.
The two minor channels that directly connect the root to the sacral plexus on the outside of the sushumni are also called Ida and Pingala nadirs.

Remember to activate your palm chakras and use your visual techniques. Your channels will be white (sushumni) and offwhite or dark (ida/pingala)

The reason the Ida and Pingala nadirs are dark is because energy flows DOWN the ida and pingala nadirs, and the Sushumni is bright white because energy flows UPwards there. So check flow. Downwards is much more subtle and gentle. When you connect to the ida and pingala nadirs, you will feel your energy shift downwards, like grounding. When you connect to the sushumni, you will feel your energy rising, like kundalini. The channels take a bit.

So remember the white light I had you connect to and let flow through your root chakra?
I want you do do the same thing through all five channels between your root and your sacral plexus.

The sacral plexus is all about your connections - how you relate to the world around you.
Everything you touch is stored in the sacral plexus... which can make it very crowded. Outmoded ideas, and burnt in, tired patterns, are held here.
I call the sacral plexus the noun chakra. If it's a person, place, thing, or idea, and you have ever related to it, it's there.
It's also a sexual chakra - but rather than your own sexuality... it deals with how you feel sexually about others. It also deals with how you relate to them sexually.
It's about what you enjoy in life, when it's healthy - the things that bring you pleasure. It's also the seat of indulgence and addiction. This is the chakra that your feelings about the world come from.

One of the first self-care things that needs to be done with this chakra is... what are you holding there that is no longer useful, no longer serving your highest good, serving your growth as a person and as a spirit?
Bring in the white light energy... and SAY TO IT - "I release all unnecessary connections back into the universe, with unconditional love." Know that the energy of those connections that is right now doing nothing but holding you back is going to be repurposed and directed towards someone else's highest good now. And let go.

When you truly let something go out of your energy field, when you stop sucking it back in all the time, even if you're surrounded by it, it no longer disturbs you, because it's not inside you.
So keep weeding until your garden stops being soil that accepts those kinds of seeds. Your energy is programmable. You can teach yourself a new way to be, where things do not grow in you that you do not need.

We're digging into the sacral plexus chakra. We've released the excess connections that are unnecessary and holding up progress. Now it's time to clean up the mess that came from being stuck.
Again, bring in the light that we talked about, and let it wash through the entire chakra, cleansing, balancing, soothing.
Let it remove any stuck energy, and when you feel it's a nice, strong, stable orange, we can move on to the channels above it.
It should also get a pulse to it.

Remember to draw that light all the way through, front to back. The opening that draws in, to the opening that pushes out. The front of the chakra - which is actually your back.

So the next step is to connect to the five channels moving to the solar plexus. The two that cross below the sacral and above the sacral (outer ida and pingala) the two that connect from the solar to the sacral (inner ida and pingala) and the central channel that flows up from the root through the sacral and now through the solar plexus (sushumni) all need to be checked and cleaned with the light.

The outer ida and pingala wrap around the chakra system like a DNA helix.

The inner ida and pingala, whose energies ALSO flow downwards, simply leap from chakra to chakra. The Sushumni, whose energies flow upwards is a river bed that gathers chakra energies like tributaries as it heads for the point above the crown where it fountains.

Both ida and both pingala nadirs terminate below your feet. They flow down your legs, and your arms. But that's really technical and you don't need to worry about it with a general cleansing.

The solar plexus is your center. It is your essential sense of SELF - just as the root is your sense of your body, the solar plexus is your sense of YOU. It is the seat of your self-confidence, and all your actions. Your belief about what you are capable or not capable of doing in the world comes from here. It's all about achievable personal power. Willpower.
Having this chakra clear means you are able to be courageous, and take pleasure in your own accomplishments.

If you have issues with this chakra, you will tend to be a wallflower, but not in a positive way. An overactive chakra can make you egotistical and narcisstic. An underactive solar plexus will make you a professional doormat.

The chakra petals are an energetic fibbonaci sequence. 4, 6, 10, 12, 18, 3, 1000. lol
Time to bring on the light

The difference between the upper and lower chakras which separates them is that the lower chakras all deal with your physical self. The upper chakras all deal with your perceptions and interactions with the outside world. The root is your body, the sacral plexus is sex and relationships. The solar plexus is your views about yourself and your ability to act in the world

The heart is all about how you sense the world. The throat is all about how you communicate with that world. The Third Eye is all about how you see the world, and the crown is how your spirit connects to the spirits of the world. So all the upper chakras are externally focused.

Remember yesterday when I showed you how to open your perceptions, either by touch or by inward sight, to view your chakras?

Connect to your heart chakra. The heart chakra has 12 petals, is green with a rose outline around the outside, and as I said, is the seat of your emotional senses about the world around you.
This is how you interact intuitively with the world. The Third Eye is Sight - but the Heart is FEEL. There's no point in being able to see the word if you can't feel what your seeing actually means.
The heart chakra is also about love - but not just self-love, but being able to give and receive love with others, and the wider world.

When you are connected to your heart chakra, remember what I told you about connecting to the light that is the most balanced for you, the most attuned to your own highest good and your best purpose. This isn't about white light, or anything like that. It's about aligning yourself with your truest nature, your best balance, your most perfect you. Connect to the light that creates you as you create yourself... the blueprint, I suppose. It's not going to be the light that anyone else is. It's your light. Which means that if you work better with shadow - it will have the taste of shadow. It's your light.

So bring that into you... and let it wash through the chakra. Remember that we're going from the opening of the chakra in your back, and out the front. Let that energy wash through your chakra, setting everything to rights.
Look at what your heart chakra is right now... and then bring that intent in, and let that intent come through and fix everything up. And keep doing that until you know that your heart chakra is the best color and feel it can be.
You INTEND to connect to the light that is for your own highest vibrational good. The light that is the best light for you, and for your healing. When you put your mind into an intention, the very act of saying, "THIS is what I want," is enough to call it to you. You are using a function of magickal WILL.
You are WILLING A CHANGE TO OCCUR. You are WILLING A CONNECTION TO A TYPE OF ENERGY.
This is why I suggest that while this kind of basic healing can be done by most people, real healing that can be used for others shouldn't be done by just anyone, but someone who really knows how to keep their intentions pure.
Your heart chakra is between your nipples on your sternum.
Some people will feel it a bit lower, some a bit higher, but generally, it's in the middle there. The thing is that the heart chakra isn't actually a single chakra. It's actually 7 chakras starting at the base of the sternum and climbing upwards in sequence to the hollow of your throat.

The throat is located just over your adam's apple. Women and men have them - just feel for it if you're a chick, because it's not physically as obvious as in men. The throat chakra is a blue that is very changeable, but is frequently a whiteish blue - a pale blue to sometimes turquiose color. It has 16 petals. The throat rules vocality. It is "I Speak," so is all about speaking your personal truth. Not THE truth - but your PERSONAL truth. If you're not into self-expression, you probably have a muddy or even blocked chakra here.

The throat is all about communication, both within and without. If you don't listen to yourself, or you don't listen to others, if you don't speak deeply or honestly, if you avoid confrontation or prevaricate... you have an issue here.
Because the throat is all about speaking your truth, any time where you are deceiving yourself, this chakra is going to take the fall... and because it's smaller than some of the other chakras, when it falls, your whole outlook on the world falls with it. A recursive chakra here will actually turn you into a mouse just as much as a poorly developed solar plexus. They often feed each other.

Not angry confrontation, but... have you ever felt something deeply, and ignored your feelings because you wanted to keep the peace around you, or didn't want to deal with confrontations with your friends or family? That's a throat chakra issue. Speaking your truth is about speaking those feelings - not about shoving them in people's faces, or about forcing them to your way... the throat is all about letting EVERYONE have their personal truth, as long as they let you have yours.

If you refuse to speak up when there are issues, calmly and clearly, but just clam up instead and put up with things that don't work for you, you're going to have all kinds of addictions that are about jamming that chakra up. It's not about speaking what you think. It's not about speaking what you're taught to think. It's about standing up for what your soul believes to be true. Standing up for your heart.

When you speak from a spiritual place, you speak calmly, and you state your thoughts and feelings, and then you let go. It's not aggressive, it doesn't hurt others, or if it does, it's only because of their attachments to lies, not because you are deliberately hurting them. You speak your truth and let it go. That is how to keep the throat chakra pure.
I tell people in situations where they cannot speak, that they must remain true to themselves, and speak the truth to themselves. They must be as honest as they can be with others, they must be honest in their actions... and whatever they cannot be honest about, they must be honest somewhere else. Tell a tree. Tell a sheet of paper. Whisper it to the wind. Tell the truth to something. It will help.

So now, connect to your throat chakras, and see what they are doing. If you see any blurring or blemishes, any places that are too dark, ask them why, what are they withholding. Listen to your truth. When you are ready... bathe it in that light, and cleanse it.
If your throat chakra is hurting you, ask it why, where the blockage is, or where you are underactive or overactive, and what you need to do to resolve it. That's one thing that people seldom do that they really should do the most... talk to your chakras. ASK THEM TO TELL YOU WHAT'S GOING ON

Time to work on the third eye. The first thing you all need to know is... it's not your third eye.
Your third eye is indigo, and has two petals. It rules the unseen world, the inner world, but also the astral world. What you see in your mind and what you see with magickal and psychic senses comes from here... but only what you SEE. Secondly, the third eye is actually the fifth eye. It's located in the center of your forehead. Below it is your fourth eye, below which is your third eye at the bridge of your nose, and then your second eye is your left eye, and your first eye is your right. Above the fifth eye, you have two more eyes, the last one being at the hairline.

The fifth eye is also vastly different from your other chakras in that it is centered in the middle of your brain, in darkness, and also in that it's start is on your forehead, and it's petals bloom out the back of your head... so when working with this charka, instead of going from the back of your body to the front, you go from the front of your face to the back of your skull.

So everyone knows what the "third eye" looks like and what it does and where it's located? At the curve of the skull as it heads towards the crown. Think... if you put your hair in a ponytail, it would be around that area. Hair is actually the third eye's antenna

When you feel you have learned about any possible dysfunction, make a note to yourself about what's going on and a solution... and then bring in the light to cleanse it. Remember that with this chakra, you go from the forehead to the back of the skull and out, not from the back of the skull out the forehead.

The final chakra is the crown chakra. It's located at the fontinel of your skull. It is VERY large, larger than your hand. It has 1000 petals, and is white and purple. It covers from the hairline at your forehead, a whole cap around the top of your skull. The crown is all about knowledge.

The crown is all about being calm, being strong, knowing your own self and your own way. It's also about being deeply connected with universal oneness. It's about being in tune with everything in the world. The crown touches everything, and then the eye and the heart interpret it, and feed that interpretation back into the crown for you to understand.

Everyone, connect to your crown now, and look for any issues, or anything that you're doing RIGHT... because the crown is all about rightness.
Keep in mind that the crown isn't about losing sight of yourself, or losing your own boundaries or definitions of self. It's not about becoming nothing. The crown is the seat of yourself, as you fit in the universe, just as much as it's the seat of the universe as it fits in yourself.

A lot of people who work the LHP tend to think that the upper chakras will pull them off that path... that isn't the case. If anything, the upper chakras can refine how they decide to act, by telling them about how they think and feel about the outside world, and how it returns the favor - they reinforce choice, rather than taking it away and forcing universal connections. You can't force something that is omnipresent. You are in the universe. You can't get more connected than that.

One last thing... ask your crown how your connections to source and yourself are. Ask to see those connections and make sure they are all in, and functioning correctly.

When you've all connected to your crowns, and made sure that everything you need to know is understood, bring in the light, and this time, wash it from your crown, all the way down to the soles of your feet and into the earth. At the SAME time, bring a SECOND light up from the core of the earth... and run it through your root and all the way up, out your crown, and into the center of the universe. When you feel completely refreshed, balanced, poised between heaven and earth... you can relax, center, ground, and call it done.

I told you I was tired and would forget something... If everyone would check their idas and pingalas and sushumni from their sacral up, that would be a good thing. Run the light through all five channels.

Raven's Lessons - What About The Other Chakras!

I've seen a lot over the past year about developing the "third eye", and how it relates to psychic ability and astral vision, how it relates to spiritual phenomena.

However, I also see a lot of frustrated people who work and work and work at developing their "third eye" (actually, it's not really your THIRD eye - it's your FIFTH if we're going to be specific, but we'll get to that in a moment), and never get anywhere... and the reason is that for true psychic development, you must have a well-rounded system, you must work to strengthen and clarify ALL your chakras, not just the one!

Here is a simple explanation of how each chakra works, as it relates to psychic phenomenon, in the order they should be worked on. May it strengthen you and carry you forward in your journey with many blessings.

The Root Chakra

Found either on the perineum (between the anus and the scrotum) or just about a quarter of an inch inside the vaginal wall, towards the anus, the root chakra, also connected to the foot chakra, relates directly to your connection to the material world. Without a correctly developed root chakra, well bonded to the Earth and the material plane, you run the risk of being lost in a sea of psychic abilities without control, and without the ability to distinguish what is merely mental trash and what is actually psychic impression. Also, all psychic abilities are based on energy - we draw energy into our bodies a variety of ways - air, food, exercise, sunlight - but we also draw energy into our bodies by our connection to the material plane, specifically to the Earth from which our bodies were made. Without that connection to constantly refresh and circulate healthy energy, a sickness called "Backlash" occurs, where using psychic abilities results in headaches, nausea, and other flu-like symptoms. Basically, the root chakra is the concrete foundation your psychic house is built on... without that foundation, your house will slowly be washed away by the energy flowing around you, and your actual body will sicken.

The Root faces downwards, and is connected to the central channel to which all the other Chakras are connected to. It radiates energy upwards as well as releasing old energy downwards into the Earth. With the exception of the Crown Chakra and the Ajna Chakra, all other chakras flow from back to front - they draw in energy from behind you, and into the central channel, and then out the front of your body, filling in your aura. Their first job is to stabilize the energy channels that keep your body alive, their secondary task is to fill in your aura, the protective envelope that keeps those energies contained.

http://lovelyharshal.wordpress.com/2011 ... your-life/

The root chakra deals with the feelings of security, stability, and the feeling that you are grounded no matter what situation you’re in. If your root chakra is blocked or under active, you probably feel very nervous, full of anxiety, and fearful. Moreover, you tend to feel very materialistic wanting more and being very resistant to changes around you, if this chakra is overactive. The bottom line is that you want your chakras to be in complete balance with one another not overactive or under active.

If you have symptoms of a blocked root chakra, there are ways in which you can unblock and allow the energy to flow freely. The root chakra deals with feelings of being grounded, therefore, you can use exercises in order to help strengthen the connection to the earth for the feeling of being grounded. By engaging in simple exercises you can help to unblock the root chakra.

First, relax as you stand straight your feet should be apart as much as your shoulders are, and your knees just slightly bent, and your palms should lean forward. Keep your body balanced so that the weight on your feet is distributed evenly, stay in this position for a few minutes.

Moreover, you can open the root chakra by touching the tips of your index finger to your thumb, and then concentrating on the root chakra which is just between the anus and the genitals; at this point you would chant LAM.

By doing a few simple exercises, you can have your chakras flowing in a more balanced way . The effects will be that you’ll feel no longer anxious, you’ll feel more grounded, and more welcomed wherever you are.

Your Sacral Plexus Chakra

Found about three inches below the belly button and within the center of your body, facing forward, is the Sacral Plexus chakra. The Sacral Plexus chakra deals with how we connect to the elements in our world - not the Earth and the material plane, but the other life-forms within it. Believe it or not, everything you have ever touched, every feeling you have ever had, every thought related to a person, place, thing or idea, has a connection in your Sacral Plexus. Clearing the Sacral Plexus allows you to discard old behaviors and ideas, and also release old relationships that no longer serve you. It is a simple matter - cover your "womb" area with your hands, then in a cupping motion, gather the connections that are not for your highest good, the unnecessary connections, and gently remove those blockages from your sacral plexus area, and blow them back into the universe. Focus on sending them back to where they came from WITH UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. You're not trying to hurt anyone, you just seek your freedom.

As for why the Sacral Plexus is important for psychic ability - this is where you connect to those you are tuning into. If your sacral plexus is clogged, or worse, sealed, you cannot connect, because there's either too much gunk, or things slide off. This can lead to a feeling of disconnection not only in your material life, but also in your psychic life. Clearing the sacral plexus and working on your sense of self will allow you to connect more clearly. Just remember that every time you do something psychically, you need to clear your sacral plexus after, so that whoever or whatever you have connected to doesn't remain in your aura, coloring your own thoughts and feelings.

The Sacral Plexus also deals with sex and sensuality, and the expression of emotions. Since the majority of psychic impressions are actually emotional ones, keeping this chakra clear can assist you in determining the difference between your own feelings and those of others, and also in accurately determining what IS your feelings and what is NOT.

(Note - All quotes come from the website linked in the first quote.)
The sacral chakra deals with your feelings and your sexuality. When this chakra is flowing freely, you are able to express your emotions without being overly emotional. Someone with a balanced sacral chakra finds it natural to be intimate, passionate, and has no problems dealing with any part of their sexuality. Moreover, your feelings are grounded and you will not be too emotional or too closed off from your feelings.

An under active sacral chakra typically displays itself as someone who is very unemotional, does not appear very open to people, is not approachable and appears rather cold to people who come in contact with the person. On the other hand, if you tend to be overly emotional all the time, this indicates that you have an over active sacral chakra; you may feel extremely attached to people emotionally and sexually. Therefore, a blocked, under-active, or overactive sacral chakra is unhealthy not only for the individual, but for those that they come in contact with. This means it is advantageous for you and those that you are involved with to have this chakra opened and balanced.

You can balance and open your sacral chakra by placing your hands on your lap with your palms up on top of one another. Your left hand should be underneath your right, and the palm of your left hand should be touching the back of your right hand’s fingers. The very tips of your thumbs should touch as you concentrate on the sacral chakra, which is toward the lower back, and then chant of sound VAM. You can repeat this several times in order to balance the chakra and to begin feeling emotionally whole and well.

The seven major chakras are a rotating wheel of energy inside everyone. Those that are gifted and trained to perceive blocked chakras can help you to unblock them. However, this is something that you can do on your own with a little work and effort. When all of the seven major chakras are not in balance, the energy within is not flowing freely. This can lead to illness, fatigue, disease, and stress. Therefore, having your sacral chakra in balance with the other major chakras is vital to achieve wholeness.

Navel (Solar Plexus) Chakra

The Solar Plexus chakra is all about your personal power. Basically, if you don't believe in yourself, if you don't have a firm grasp on not only your sense of your emotional self, but also your powerful spiritual self, you won't be able to do a darned thing psychically, or worse, what you CAN do will leave you exhausted, confused, and may be jumbled up with fabricated impressions. This chakra is also the chakra most involved with being Centered - which if you've been exploring this forum, you've seen mentioned multiple times - it, along with grounding, is the first exercise ever taught to anyone learning magick or psychism. You will be told by website after website, book after book, and teacher after teacher, "Ground and Center! Ground and Center!"

Centering means to sit within your Powerful sense of self. It means to align yourself with that central channel that goes from the root to the crown, from the earth through the root, up the center channel, out the crown, into the universe. But it also means to sit in your Solar Plexus, and expand that sense of personal SELF, so that it fills your body with light, and that you spill that light, your essential self, into the earth and sky, just as the earth and sky fill YOU. When you constantly, and consistently work with your Solar Plexus chakra, you will learn things about yourself and your power, you will discover your strengths and your weaknesses, and how to expand those strengths and guard those weaknesses. Moreover, when you work with your solar plexus enough, you will lose the doubts that cripple and block psychic abilities.

When it comes to having high self-esteem, assertiveness, and feeling in control of your decisions, much of this has to do with the navel chakra. If you tend to be aggressive and domineering, this chakra is most certainly overactive. On the other hand, if you tend to be indecisive, timid, and never get what you want, chances are this chakra is under active. Assertiveness in a group should be something that comes quite naturally and easily, but if your navel chakra is blocked or unbalanced the opposite is often the case.

Exercises to Open the Navel Chakra

You can open your naval chakra with a few simple exercises, which will help you achieve the self-esteem you desire and deserve. First of all, put your hands right at your stomach area which is the solar plexus. Your finger should join at the tips while pointing away from you. Next, crush your thumbs and keep your fingers straightened; now concentrate on the navel chakra which is located at your spine just above your naval. Chant the sound RAM. You can repeat this process several times in order for your chakra to be open and balanced.

By working to open the navel chakra, you will begin to notice that your self-esteem gradually improves. You’ll also no longer feel timid and afraid to ask for what you want. When all seven major chakras are working in harmony you begin to feel better about yourself, your environment, and those around you. While chakras and their effects on your emotional health and well-being may seem like a new concept to you, they have been practiced for thousands of years in many other cultures. The truth is energy continually flows through your body via the chakras whether you know it or not, and regardless of whether you believe it or not.

Often because the chakras cannot be seen by the naked eye, it’s easy to discard them as not being real. However, you cannot see the wind, you cannot touch the wind, and you can’t even taste the wind, but there is no question that the wind and air is real. Therefore, if someone says “I don’t believe in the air.” it doesn’t change the fact that the air is around us and within us. The more you learn about the chakras, the more you will begin to understand how each and every one of the chakras are of utmost importance.

Attempting to unblock the navel chakra can be very difficult without a spiritual guru. Unfortunately, most people simply don’t have reasonable access to someone who can guide them in this practice. However, there is no reason why you can’t attempt to unblock your naval chakra or any of your other chakras on your own. I’ve actually stumbled across a systemized formula for unblocking each of the 7 chakras, and the best part is it can be practiced alone in the comfort of your own home.
The Heart Chakra

This is actually seven chakras - but the two most people focus on are the Green Heart Chakra and the Rose Heart Chakra. The other five need to be developed too, but that's really an advanced step, and the best explanations I've ever found for those five are in a book called Kundalini and the Chakras, by Genevieve Paulson - " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; However - we're working primarily with the two concepts of Love - Universal Love, and Self-Love. Believe it or not, psychic ability is based on Love. If you don't feel connected to the universe, and you don't feel love for yourself, these negative thoughts and feelings block out a lot of psychic impressions you might actually be receiving from the universe and from your own intuition. So clarifying and developing the Heart Chakras is very important for reception. The pink heart chakra is, obviously, about self-image and self-love, while the green heart chakra, about an inch above it, and much larger, is about Universal Love and Univeral Receptivity to Love - they are both roughly in the center of the chest over the thymus gland. Development of the heart chakras not only helps with intuition, but also hearing Guides and inner guidance.
The heart chakra influences your interactions with other people, your affections, your compassion, your love, and your friendliness. If this chakra is under active you tend to be distant and cold with those around you. On the other hand, if this chakra is over-active you tend to suffocate others with your affections and love.

Opening the Heart Chakra

Because the heart chakra deals with relationships and love, it’s imperative that this chakra is open and flowing evenly rather than being under active or overactive. Luckily, you can work to open this chakra by doing exercises on your own.

Find a comfortable place in your room where you will not be distracted, sit on the floor with your legs crossed and sit up straight. Next, place your left hand on your left knee, and then place you your right hand just in front of the lower part of your breastbone, which is just above the solar plexus. Turn your mind to and concentrate on the heart chakra located at the spine level where your heart is. Chant the mantra YAM. You can repeat this for several minutes each day, and eventually this chakra will gradually begin to open.

When the heart chakra is open you’ll begin to be in touch with your center of love, spirituality and compassion for other people. You will not only love others, you will also love yourself, and be able to give as well as receive love. Moreover, this chakra helps to connect your spirit with your mind. For many reasons people tend to have problems with this chakra being closed.

Common reasons for a blocked heart chakra include:

Hurtful experiences in the past
A broken heart
Experiences of betrayal
Having a blocked heart chakra can also have physical health consequences. For example, heart disease is a common illness all around the world and this could easily be linked to the fact that many people’s heart chakra is not properly balanced.

Finally, when this chakra is opened you will no longer experience the fear of being hurt, and unafraid of being unworthy of love. Chakra balancing is not a new concept and has been practiced for many years. However, it is just now making it’s way to the western world. Because of this most people find it difficult to find quality information on how to open their chakras.

The Throat Chakra

Believe it or not, this chakra is the chief chakra involved with clair-audience. In other words... if your throat chakra is blocked, no amount of work on your third eye is going to net you any sound results at all... You might see stuff... but you aren't going to HEAR anything. The throat chakra is all about communication of all kinds - your ability to both listen AND to express your true self. Having a clear and well-functioning throat chakra is the difference between hearing the truth in yourself and others, and wandering, blind, through a life of lies.
Do you ever feel that you are unable to express yourself while speaking to others? If so, your throat chakra could be closed. This chakra directly affects your self-expression and ability to communicate with others. People with a blocked throat chakra tend to be quiet, shy, and unsure of themselves. If however, you tend to speak nonstop and dominate the conversation while not listening to others this chakra may be overactive. Obviously, the key is to have this chakra balanced so that you can freely speak to others and express yourself without fear or hesitancy.

Exercises to Open the Throat Chakra

By engaging in simple exercises and concentration you can help open your throat chakra. First of all, your fingers should be crossed inside of your hands with your fingers facing the floor, your thumbs should touch slightly at the top of each other while pushing them in an upward motion. Next, you want to concentrate on the chakra which is located near the bottom portion of your throat. Finally begin to chant the sound HAM. This exercise can be practiced several times a day or week in order to open your throat chakra.

The throat chakra is the fifth chakra in the energy wheel within you and also deals with your level of creativity. If you are able to be creative with your speech, in writing, and other artistic outlets this chakra is balanced and working correctly. However, when the chakra is blocked or out of balance you tend to hold back on your expressions of creativity and speech. If as a child you are musically or artistically motivated, but somehow lost these abilities, it’s probably due to this chakra being out of balance. As a result, physical ailments can follow when this chakra is out of balance, which include throat pain, pain in the back, y hyperthyroidism, and an array of inflammation throughout the body.

While many people do not understand the seven chakras, often they visit their doctors for medical ailments. Many people may not realize that their condition could be a result of a blocked chakra such as the root chakra. On the other hand, others who have unblocked this chakra, and balanced their other chakras, have found they don’t seek medical attention as often as they used to because their energy field is flowing and in balance.
The Third Eye

Actually, there are Seven Eyes. Your dominant, your non-dominant, and then the five that go from the bridge of your nose between your physical two eyes, all the way up to your hair line. Again - if you'd like more information on the other four chakras (or even the two situated over your physical eyes - check out Paulson's book. But we're going to deal with the actual Fifth eye, centered in the middle of your forehead.

As you all know, the "third eye" is supposedly the base of all psychic perception - though you're discovering how little truth that belief has, right now. However, it IS the center for your inner vision - please note I say INNER vision, and not EXTERNAL vision - so if you're hoping to suddenly see your dragon with your naked eyes by working at peeling layers off your fifth eye, you're probably spitting in the wind. While certainly it is eventually possible to see the layers of reality by working on incorporating the fifth eye and first and second eyes and encouraging them to work in tandem, it is as rare a gift as true telepathy. Most people who are labeled telepathic are just really, really strong empaths, or have some kind of clairsentience or clairaudience. But anyway, back to the fifth eye.

There are a LOT of Gifts out there. Sight is not the only one. It is entirely possible that you can work on your fifth eye for 20 years, and actually really make some progress, and never "SEE" anything. Instead, you may become powerfully precognitive. You might become really empathic. Your ability to heal may expand. You might begin to experience the thoughts of trees, animals, stones. Anything is possible. Inner vision is not just about SEEING... it's also about all the other psychic abilities that you have. If it has to do with knowledge, it's going to come from development of the fifth eye, in tandem, as I've mentioned, with the other six major chakras. Of course, if you're kinetic, things are different. You might SEE kinetically (most kinetics can see atoms, or at least a weird type of DEPTH in objects that makes them more real to them - fuller), but the actual Gift is partially in your brain, partially in your heart and solar plexus, and partially in your HANDS.

The Fifth Eye is ALSO about astral vision - imagination and mental creativity. Even if you're not Gifted at ALL (highly unlikely - I've never met a person on the planet who didn't have SOME kind of psychic ability) everyone has the ability to dream, daydream, and create in some way. Just because you aren't an artist doesn't mean you're not creative. Building a house is creative, calculating the perfect angle for a bookcase just by sight alone, is creative, but I sure as heck couldn't do it!
Even if you know little about the seven chakras, you’ve probably heard something about the third eye chakra. The third eye has become a major focus for many people, due to the fact that it deals with your inner vision, insight, as well as your intuition. If this chakra is flowing smoothly, you have no problem fantasizing, visualizing the big picture, and you have insight into the situations around you. However, if this chakra is under active you may have a hard time being able to think for yourself, and therefore rely on people of authority. Also, the way you think may be tied in with your beliefs, or you may find yourself confused much of the time. On the other hand, if you tend to hallucinate and live in a fantasy world where you are fantasizing more than living your life, this chakra is overactive.

Exercise to Help Open the Third Eye Chakra

In order to have your third eye chakra flowing freely, there are some exercises you can do on your own to help balance this vital chakra. First of all, place your hands just before the lower part of your breasts, your middle fingers need to stay straight and touch at the tops and point forward. The rest of your fingers should be bent and touching at the knuckles. Point your thumbs towards you with them touching each other at the top. Now concentrate on this important chakra which is located just above your eyebrows. When you are ready, begin to chant OM or AUM. Practicing this exercise daily will help to open and balance this chakra so that you can gain insight and intuition easily.

The third eye chakra is the sixth chakra and is often linked to psychic ability. Moreover, when this chakra is balanced you find yourself being less selfish and open to receiving guidance. Physical symptoms of this chakra being closed include headaches, eye strain, and even blurred vision. If you are afraid of success, it is likely this chakra is out of balance. When the third eye chakra is balanced, you don’t feel attached to materialistic things, and you may have insight to different experiences such as telepathy.

Finally, when your third eye and the rest of the chakras are balanced, you will experience complete harmony due to your energies flowing in a balanced way.
The Crown Chakra

Last but not least, we have the Crown Chakra - how you connect to Universe, Divinity, your Higher Self, the Collective Unconscious, and Wisdom. Without a strong and clear crown, you will have NO connection to the spiritual realm, no matter how much work you do on the other chakras, even the third eye.
The seventh major chakra is the crown chakra. This chakra deals with the feeling of being one with the world and about wisdom. When this chakra is balanced and open you have no prejudices. You will also be very aware of both the physical and spiritual world. If you are not aware of your spirituality and are often rigid in your thinking, this chakra is most likely under active. On the other hand, if you intellectualized everything or are only concerned with spirituality while ignoring your wordy needs, this chakra is overactive.

Exercises to Help Open the Crown Chakra

As with all the chakras, there are exercises that you can do on your own to help you open the crown chakra. To get started, place your hands at stomach level and let both ring fingers point up, allowing them to touch at the top. Next, you’ll want to cross the rest of your fingers, with your left thumb being under your right thumb. Holding this position concentrate your mind on the Crown chakra which is located at the top of your head, and chant or say the sound NG.

The crown chakra deals with wisdom, energy, thoughts that flow easily, spirituality, and your enlightenment. When this chakra is in balance, you feel connected to God, but are still concerned with your physical body. If this chakra is out of balance or blocked you may feel frustrated, black joy, and even feel destructive to yourself or others. Several physical illnesses can follow when the Crown chakra is blocked, these include depression as well as headaches and severe migraines.

Many people find the chakras confusing and therefore, may choose to believe they are not real. However, there are many things that humans cannot touch, taste, or see that are indeed real. Therefore, if you are feeling physically ill, spiritually disconnected, and frustrated with life in general consider the possibility that your chakras may be out of balance, blocked, under active, or over-active.
So. Now you see... it's not all about the "Third Eye." It's actually all about ALL your chakras. They are a house... if you're missing a wall, it's not a house. If you're missing the floor or the roof, it's not a house. If you're missing rooms, it's not a house. If you're missing the bathroom or the kitchen, it's sure as heck not a place to live in.

Build your house.

Stop cleaning the windows, and work on the roof, the walls, the floor. Work on the whole structure, work with all the chakras, daily. Cleanse them, balance them, daily.

You will find that your work on the "third eye" chakra, when you work with the others, TOO, will net more, and better, results in the end.

Raven's Lessons: How To - More information on cleansing and balancing the chakras.

(Raven's NOTE - This is for a service I no longer provide, but the information is still valuable and educational.)

Most of my clients have experienced first hand what it is, exactly, that I do for their chakra services. They know that my services are intensive, detailed, and that there's quite a bit more involved than just a changing of the energies in their systems. However, many of you are not aware of the level of detail, and the depth of the alterations, that I reach for, in doing such a service.

I've seen the prices of most chakra services. I can do a service for that price. I can wave a ball of white light through your energy and call it done. Except that ethically... I know better... and I just cannot stop at a bandaid when you're hemorrhaging and don't know it.

So that you who have yet to receive a service understand what it is that I do, I'm going to share a recent case with you. Normally my cases are verbal - they are done live, via Skype, so the feedback is immediate. I feel, and so do the clients who have received services from me, that it's much more personal. Rather like a visit to a massage therapist (only for your energy) - since the therapist is right there in the room, you can immediately say, "Ohh, that feels fantastic, but now that muscle is relaxed, this other muscle on the other side is tensing up." The therapist can immediately respond... and so can I. This conversation was live, but it was also via a messenger system, rather than Skype (though Skype does have a messenger feature which I have used before during services with clients that do not have webcams or microphones. The name of the client, and some of the details, have been changed for their privacy. It's been heavily edited for the same reason. You will note that in this service, I begin at the root.

I don't normally begin at the root, unless the client specifically requests me to. I begin at the crown, because if you start at the upper chakras, clear any blockages from there and get them functioning at the highest possible frequency, open, then when you work on lower chakras with blockages, the upper chakras can actually process those blockages and spit them out, without there being a need for me to go back over the same territory repeatedly. However, if a client normally runs energy only from the root to crown, their bodies have difficulty processing that energy can actually run both ways, and SHOULD. Your energy flows up from the earth, through the root, and out your crown... but it also flows in through your nose, up into your crown, and down around your spine in a spiral, and out your root.

When I start at the crown, I cleanse, clear, balance, align, detox, remove and release blockages, soothe, heal, reshape, recharge, and sometimes rebuild chakras all the way down. I also check the channels that connect the chakras to each other, called nadirs. There are three major nadirs - the Ida on the left, the Pingala on the right (these are the ones that go from your nose to your root), and the Sushumni, which is the central channel that you run energy from root to crown with. The Ida and Pingala actually have two aspects - one Ida and Pingala runs from chakra to chakra, the other two make a DNA helix that actually goes AROUND each chakra, crossing and sharing energy BETWEEN them instead of inside them.

I also cleanse from back to front, with the exception of the fifth eye. Yes, I said fifth eye. You have seven - your right eye, your left eye, your subconscious eye in the dip between your nose and forehead, another one just above that called the third eye, the fourth eye above that, the fifth eye in the center of your forehead that everyone in the west calls the third eye, the sixth eye above that, and the seventh eye at your hairline. The fifth eye and the subconscious eye both open at the back of the head, not the face... which is why most of that work you do on your so-called third eye doesn't work... you're trying to open the back of the chakra, the place that receives energy instead of processes it.

Once I've reached your root chakra, I recheck all the chakras and channels. Then, I open them all, from root to crown, center you, ground you, and trigger a very mild kundalini release, which gives your chakras a final cleansing and recharging bath, but also does the same for your aura. Then, from the crown down, I relax your chakras back to what, for you, would be their normal functioning level - the partially closed every-day state.

Of course, this client is someone who normally works root to crown, and not both ways. To save them the discomfort, I went ahead and ran the energy the way they were used to running energy. It did end up meaning I needed to backtrack a few times, but I personally believe it was time well-spent, as while I was backtracking, I discovered that one particular chakra needed repair work on all seven layers of all five of her bodies, and also needed work in her timeline, because she had such a buildup of negative energy going on. It was that moment of discovery, where I had to come at things from a new angle and push myself to meet my client's needs, that challenge to do more than I'd done before in order to help, that encouraged me to write this.

So following is the heavily edited chakra service of my most recent client, along with some private notes of explanation of mine in blue. I have not included notes on how I scan to see what I see... I'm not even sure how to describe it, and since every person who sees, sees differently, it wouldn't be relevant to anyone but myself.
May you find it enlightening... and if, after reading this service, you would like an appointment, the service can take anywhere from an hour and a half to three hours. You can find it here: (EDITED - THIS SERVICE AND THE STORE NO LONGER EXIST)

ME:
Slainte, Jane. This is a seven chakra service. I need a small bit of information from you before I start.

JANE:
Okay

ME:
Do you work with your chakras at all?

JANE:
Yes, I do visualizations, binaural beats and solfeggio

ME:
OK. Do you work with the chakras individually, or as a whole system?
Do you work with the channels at all, the connections between the chakras?
And finally... do you run energy through your chakras, and if so, in which direction do you typically run it - crown to root, or root to crown?

JANE:
Usually all the chakras. I've never worked with the channels. I also don't visualize that well.
I open root to crown, then run energy root to crown

ME:
Most people think they don't visualize very well.

JANE:
I feel more than see

ME:
OK, then I will work in the same direction, as that is what your system is used to.
Feeling is a form of visualization, dear.
Let me put it this way. Imagine, for a moment, a baseball game, major league, at an enormous stadium. Someone has just hit a ball out of the park. What do you sense first?

JANE:
Sound
Do you want me to do anything?

ME
Not yet. I want to help you with understanding visualization first.
Sound is visualizing. What do you experience in that same visualization, next?

JANE:
Seeing the ball fly upward
The breeze in my face as I fly next to the ball

ME:
See? You ROCK at visualization.
My first one is sound. My second one is seeing the crowd, my third is feeling the rush of the cheers of success - the energy of the crowd and the players, my fourth is the feel of the metal bleachers at the back of my legs, the feeling of the sun on my body, and finally, the smells of hot people, hotdogs, beer, and peanuts and popcorn. ALL of those are visualization methods. Some are just easier than others... and each person is different in what they are most skilled at. This is called sensual recall - it's what true visualization is all about... picturing something you've never experienced, so well, that you can fool your mind into believing you are actually experiencing it.
The only one I suck at in that exercise is taste... but that's because there's nothing at a baseball game that I'd want to eat.

JANE:
Me either

ME:
Most people say practice with an apple, or practice in the shower. Did you know that if you take a moment at work to relive your morning shower, in full sensual detail - the feel of the water flowing down your skin, the heat massaging your muscles, the steam relaxing you completely... you can actually relieve yourself of stress at work? You instantly feel cleaner. And it only takes a few seconds.
No one has to know.

JANE:
I'll try that

ME:
Cool.
OK. So you run energy root to crown. The first thing I'm going to do is tune in to your energy, and connect to it. Please let your household defenses know that I am coming, and have permission to be there and to work on you. They may assist if they like.

JANE:
Done

ME:
OK. I'm grounding, centering, and connecting now then.
(Please note that prior to all work, I center and ground, and after all work is finished, I do so again - I also do the same service for my clients who cannot do this for themselves. This is for safety... when working with intense energy, backlash is always possible. I also always wash my hands before and after a service - though my physical hands will not be touching you, washing the metaphysical dust from my aura before I work on you is just smart... and disconnecting via water afterwards means your energy frequency doesn't get passed on to another client later in the day. I also always eat something, usually protein, and drink at least 8oz of water after a service, to flush out toxins and replenish my energy, and I tell my clients to do the same. During energy work, your blood sugar can drop as much as 30 points, and after a serious healing, your body immediately begins to flush massive amounts of toxic energy out of your system. Providing it something in which to carry those toxins out of your body is not only smart, it's most likely to help you prevent a relapse within the first 72 hours of having work done.)
The first thing that I notice is that your root chakra has a brownish red smear on the right side near the bottom. This suggests that you are holding in energies here, that you have some insecurities about your basic nature - you are not comfortable in your body or in the physical world. I think you are probably rather clumsy. You probably have issues with anemia.
Do you have issues with other ways you don't take care of your body? Perhaps you forget to eat or don't get enough fluids?

JANE:
Lack of sleep, too much stress (challenging kids), choppy diet that's mostly good, and not enough exercise.

ME:
This retention of energy suggests that in some ways you are rejecting your body - but it also suggests that you don't feel whole, spiritually. You don't feel safe spiritually.
Ah. That makes a lot of sense.
OK. I can remove the excess energy from your root chakra. However, I cannot repair the decisions you are making in your life in the ways you choose to manage your stress. Taking naps, snacking on the go (preferably healthy snacks like apples or celery or carrots), and taking the kids for walks in the woods or somewhere where there's nature on a regular basis will be good for you and them both. I personally recommend, if they're close, a Japanese tea garden or botanical garden... few people go there, and there are lots of beautiful things to look at that don't overwhelm the senses. You can also teach the kids about the plants and the bugs you find, as a bonding experience. Feeding fish and ducks at the pond that is always at a botanical garden will also be relaxing.
With my particular services, I can always repair an issue, but if the root cause of the issue isn't resolved in your life and in your mind, the issue will be recurring. It's a bit like... getting a valve replacement, and continuing to eat 8 eggs a day.

JANE:
The botanical garden is a problem, but the rest I can improve on.

ME:
Do you have a park or something similar?

JANE:
Nothing nice that isn't over run with trash and screaming kids. We are working on the backyard, though. Hopefully completed this fall.

ME:
Woods even? Anything out doors, that allows you to go on long walks, has people, but not too many. People so you'll be safer than if you were alone, but not too many so your boys won't be overwhelmed with too much. People always stressed me out and overwhelmed me most. The sound of birds, the silence of the trees... that was where I always felt safest when I was younger. I would imagine that most challenging children are somewhat similar... they need the quiet, but everyone needs fresh air. Just... not busy air.
A back yard would be good. Perhaps with peonies and a tree house.

JANE:
We're in a suburb - people everywhere and nothing but businesses and concrete. Unfortunately.
Peonies are good. I'm making a fantasy whimsical garden for us and the fae and elves.

ME:
The more you work in the garden, actually, the more grounded you will be, the less backed up... and if you can get your kids to join you, some of their stress will leach out of them. Earth is relaxing that way.
That sounds rather perfect.

JANE:
Lots of winding paths and statues, and lots of flowers and plants.

ME:
Yes. I think that will be wonderful for your boys. Make sure there are benches to sit on (and bushes to hide in). Boys need shrubbery you know.

ME:
Definitely.
OK... I'm going to fix your root now. I would suggest you add lemon to your water for a little while. I'm not sure why, but that just came up.

JANE:
Okay

ME:
(At this stage, I reached into her chakra, and removed the excess energy. I removed a blockage where the energy had backed up, I balanced the chakra back to front, top to bottom, and also with the foot chakra and the sacral plexus chakra. I ran some healing, cleansing energy through the chakra from the back out the front, and smoothed the chakra's reactions down to a normal, calm level.)
Good. Much better. OK. I'm now going to move through the three channels, the Ida, Pingala, and Sushumni, between your root and your sacral plexus, and check the connections, remove any blockages, and then I'll examine your sacral plexus.

JANE:
Okay

ME:
OK, the two Ida, the two Pingala, and the Sushumni, all look normal - there were no blockages, nor were there any dislocations of any kind. I'm moving on to the sacral plexus. Sometimes people feel that nauseous butterfly feeling in their abdomens when I'm looking. Let me know if you feel like that, and I'll back off with the energy.
OK... your sacral plexus is healthy. However, the color is a little on the pale side, more a yellow-orange than a true orange. This suggests that in your personal relationships, with friends, lovers, family, you are creative, intelligent, and detail oriented, which are good qualities, but when you get hurried, you become a perfectionist, scientific, but overly analytic to the point of feeling fatigued or stressed.

JANE:
Yes, and very scattered, trying to do too many things at once and accomplishing little.

ME:
It might be a good time to dial that back a bit, and take time to just relax - let situations be what they are, let people be what they are. Herding cats isn't worth the hair loss, you know?

JANE:
Herding cats about covers it. I've started painting again and it helps me ignore things, too.

ME:
Yes, exactly. When you get like that, it's more important to take a deep breath, and ask yourself... "Is this QUALITY?" If what you are doing is important, stress away. If it's just folding socks, chasing homework, etc... best let it go. It can always be dealt with later. How much of your life is spent telling people to make their beds... and is that quality time with the people you care about, or should you be looking for more?
I think painting to ignore the less important things is smart. I get that no one wants to live like a slob, but... some things just aren't as important as your time with love. With Life.

JANE:
I will try.
The painting will continue, though. I'd forgotten how much I love it.

ME:
So, I can change this color to a better orange for you now. However, long term, you will probably want to start listing things that are important, and things that aren't, and figuring out how to handle each half of the equation. Learning how to let go of things you've always been told are so important, but that you KNOW are not, is a journey. I can put your feet on that path, but you will still have to walk it. Do you want me to do that?

JANE:
Yes, please do.

ME:
Good. I'm glad you will continue with the painting. I think picking up the painting again might actually explain why your sacral plexus is as healthy as it is. Painting is actually VERY good for the sacral plexus because it's such a sensual experience.
OK. I'm doing the repairs now.
(This repair was simply a color shift. It's rather a combined act of Will and persuasion. You have to hold the color that the chakra SHOULD be in your mind, and encourage it to slowly take on that color by itself. I always know when the change takes, because for me, I get a sinking feeling, of things falling into their correct pattern.)
OK. The sacral plexus is finished. Before I move up through the ida, sushumni and pingala connected to your solar plexus, please tell me how your root and sacral plexus feel, and if there's anything you feel you would like me to expand on or improve on.
(Always, ALWAYS backtrack and make sure that your work on one chakra hasn't affected the other chakras you've already worked on. ALWAYS. Sometimes when you're not looking, one chakra repair can destabilize an entire system, so part of your mind has to always be focused on the area you're working on, but part of your mind has to always be viewing the whole system, aware of any twitches that might cause you problems, so you can catch a failure before it starts. That way is much less traumatic for the client.)

JANE:
They seem fine. i'm feeling a lot fo vibration, but no discomfort at all.

ME:
Good. OK. I am going to move upwards now towards the solar plexus then.

JANE:
Okay

ME:
OK. There was a mild dislocation on the left side in the back ida. It's fixed now. There was also a blockage in the front pingala, which I have removed.
(Again, this is a matter of Will and Persuasion - I could see where the Ida belonged, and where the top of it was... and I simply... nudged it back into place gently. Always be gentle. When it connected, I smoothed the sudden rush of energy through it, so that the energy didn't blow the channel, and stabilized and balanced the two chakras involved. Then, I reached into the front Pingala, and simply pulled out the blockage. I wear my own version of protective psychic gloves, and I have three constructs that are designed to feed on blockages and... other problems I come across in my services - basically they eat anything that isn't healthy, anything that isn't supposed to be in an energy system. I pulled out the blockage, and Connie1 sucked it right off my gloved fingers.)
I am at the solar plexus. Your solar plexus is so pale yellow it's almost white. Light or pale yellow means emerging psychic and spiritual awareness, optimism and hopefulness, positive excitement about new ideas. White reflects other energies. It suggests a pure state of light, and often represents a new, not yet designated energy in the aura. White also refers to spiritual, etheric and non-physical qualities, transcendent, higher dimensions, purity and truth, and angelic qualities.
Normally in a solar plexus, white means unfounded ideas. It means that you don't know who you are.
I think the yellow tones are new - you are feeling hopeful and excited about the art work, and discovering that it's opening you up spiritually, psychically... but I also think you are still kind of lost and not sure about who you are and where you're going in this life.
You don't have a lot of confidence in your purpose, and there's an underlying hint of green bitterness.
I think I should stop here, and let you spill your guts for a moment. There are some things that, if you don't start to get them off your chest, will mean that my work on this chakra will not stick. I think you must have a lot that you don't say that needs to be said.

JANE:
Yes, that makes sense. I'm transitioning to a new stage in my life, more about me and what I want. The bitterness I'm sure is aimed at the ex and close family members.
Okay - a lot of bitterness toward <DELETED> who have done next to nothing to help me over the years. <DELETED> has made being a cheapskate into an Olympic sport.

ME:
Actually, the bitterness being in the solar plexus means that above ALL others, you blame yourself... although a healthy dose of it is hefted outwards towards the universe and "god" in general. I think... you are angry with how things turned out, and feel like your life didn't happen the way you thought it was supposed to - and now you don't know who you are, whether any of it was worth it, where you're supposed to go, or even why you should bother going there.

JANE:
I guess I'm feeling a lot let down by the people I am supposed to be able to count on.

ME:
I understand that kind of bitterness. I will probably find a lot of that in your heart chakra, and if you haven't told <DELETED> how you feel, also in your throat, where the truth must be spoken to release blockages... but this chakra is all about YOU... how you feel about you, your own actions, and your place in the world. The sacral plexus is I Do - it's how you perceive your ability to act in the world, and whether you believe that your actions have merit, whether you are a worthy person, or not.

JANE:
I do blame my self for <DELETED>, and that was the beginning of everything. My kids will always have challenges. That's how it is. My decision to start painting again is a purely selfish one, but one I feel I need and deserve, and will lead me where I need to go.

ME:
I understand that. It's easy to be let down by others when you expect them to be a certain way and they aren't. It's also hard to look at a person and see who they are, not who they could be.

JANE:
And yes, I feel like I screwed up my life.

ME:
Selfishness isn't a bad thing. *hugs* And you know what? I screwed up mine so bad, I'm able to help you straighten yours out. Wisdom doesn't come cheap.
Everything is an experience. You can sit on it and stew, getting more and more tart... or you can marinate in it, and become an amazing meal of words for others. Or, in your case, an amazing meal of art.
Really, it's all about attitude... do you want to be burned toast, or do you want to be blackened salmon? They're almost the same thing, you know.

JANE:
I vote for the art, and I'd rather be fresh fruit. *grins*

ME:
lol Yeah... but sadly, no one gets through life a fresh fruit. They all end up making baby trees underground. So. Pick up your paintbrush and make magick. And every step of the way, let go of yet another recrimination that you do not need, that holds you back. You don't need your guilt... you have what you have, life is what it is... and you survived it the way you survived it. So put down the guilt, back away from the recriminations... and paint a picture of the future - of your freedom. Be strong... and don't be guilty for surviving and being strong, yeah?

JANE:
Yeah.

ME:
We don't last. Best to do what we can with grace while we're here. If we spend what little time we have looking back over our shoulders thinking how much we screwed that up... we won't be looking where we're walking... and we're going to screw that up, too. lol Screwing up isn't the problem. It's how you deal with the clean up that's the issue. Go ahead and screw up. Own it. Do it royally. Perfectly. The bigger the better. Because every time you screw up, you learn something. You can pass that on. It'll make you awesome to others when you tell them how not to.
I don't worry about being perfect anymore. I don't worry about what I did once before. I worry about now. I worry about this moment... and I worry about doing my best. Because honestly... that's all I've got to give. I can't do better than my best... and I can live with that... as long as I try.

JANE:
Yes, time to get on with the changes.

ME:
I know - definitely past time. What will you paint, to help you move on? I can see pictures flashing in your head. You've already got a series in planning.

JANE:
Several, actually. Many, many ideas.

ME:
Awesome. When you get them done, I would love to see pics.
I'm going to center your solar plexus. I don't think I should change the color... I think that you will do that for yourself - and that it's important that you do so - important to your self-esteem and your belief in your path.

JANE:
Okay

ME:
This may... POP. Like a dislocated limb, only energetically - it may sound in your head like that, and feel like that I mean. Don't jump.
(At this point, I centered all my focus on her solar plexus, and... CALLED. I don't know how to explain that better. I simply... called all of her together again. All her thoughts and feelings that were directed to the past or the future, I brought into now, into her body, into her solar plexus. I brought her Astral body into alignment with her physical center, and then I did the same with her spiritual body. I Called her Together again. There was a real tug of war between my Will and her scattered-ness, but eventually, she just... Slid into place.)
There. That wasn't nearly as poppy as I thought it would be, but you're centered now. It really just slid into place instead of jumping. Sometimes they jump. *shrugs*
I'll give you a moment to settle, and then I'll go on up towards the heart.

JANE:
Just a weird pulling, not bad.

ME:
(The reason I waited is sometimes being centered correctly can be a bit of a shock, and it's best to wait it out before touching the energy again.)
Let me know when you're ready. You might feel a tiny bit shaky, so I'll wait until that passes.

JANE:
I'm good.

ME:
OK. Would you mind grounding for me really quick?
(It doesn't hurt to make SURE they're ready to move on by having them ground any excess energy for you.)

JANE:
Okay

ME:
Little bit OK... Alright. I'm going to check the five channels to the heart.

JANE:
Alright

ME:
OK... heavy blockage between the solar and the heart in the sushumni. And the ida. The pingala is dislocated. The secondary ida and pingala seem to be handling the load fine, no blockages, no dislocation. OK. Be just a second while I fix this.
(Again, an application of Will. First, I re-attached the pingala, and smoothed out the flare of energy. Then, I slowly and gently removed the blockages, first from the Ida, and then from the sushumni, and fed them to Connie 1, 2, and 3. Then I balanced the energy going from the heart to the solar plexus, and made sure that all the channels were smoothed out and comfortable.)
OK. Done. I'm moving into the heart chakra.
Very angry heart. Lots of blockages. I think you might have difficulty breathing sometimes, pain in the chest. probably backache as well. You don't like stairs.

JANE:
I expected as much, lots of trouble here.
Mostly just backache, but not often.

ME:
There's a lot of red - anger (repelling), the green is a very dark green, which is resentment, feeling like a victim of the world, blaming self or others, insecurity and low self-esteem, sensitive to perceived criticism. By repelling, I mean that your energy is attempting to drive others away.

JANE:
Yes to all of that.

ME:
Normally, the green would be a nice emerald green, and it would have a halo of rose pink to it. Like watermelon tourmaline does.
Actually... we were talking about that on the forum today. You should get some. Tourmaline is VERY good for heart chakra issues.

JANE:
I love tourmaline. Pricey, though.

ME:
http://crystal-cure.com/pics/watermelon" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... -slice.jpg It should look like that, but the other way around - the pink on the outside of the chakra.
mm... I see what you mean. I'm looking for some right now, but it seems all I'm finding is jewelry grade and you're right, it's expensive.
Right. I'm going to start work on your heart chakra now. This may take a moment. Do you have a glass of water?
(Yes, I admit it... I have a thing about water. But how often do YOU have to deliberately trigger a client to have a meltdown, and not have a tissue and a glass of water handy?)

JANE:
Not yet. Just a sec...
Okay

ME:
OK. You can drink the water to help deal with the vibration.
(This is where I start peeling layers off of her heart chakra. I fill my hands with love - self-love, universal love, love from people, love from pets... the heart chakra needs it ALL, so when working on a heart chakra, you suspend every emotion except that purity of connection, and you touch the chakra with only that as your healing method. You literally love away the wounds. So I touched her heart chakra, and I loved it, and I soothed it, and each time I touched it, I radiated support, acceptance (even from herself, from within her), the sense of growth and blooming, of spring. I poured that into her heart, and each time I did, waves of black smokey pain poured out of her, lifting off like sheets, to float away into the universe, to be cleansed and purified, and repurposed - changed into something better. When the last of the smoke cleared, I began to work on the color. I reached in and found her Rose heart chakra - the chakra for self-love, and awakened it, gently. I poured love and power and strength into it, until it overcame the red in her chakra, and surrounded the main green heart chakra with a beautiful, delicate light pink. I then reached into the green, and shifted it slowly to emerald. Finally, I checked inside the chakra, from back to front, and removed all the blockages, the sludge, that I could find. The Connies snapped at my fingers and bickered over the scraps in the background.)

JANE:
I like feeling your energy moving around. It's an interesting experience.

ME:
OK. This part is finished and your heart chakra is much better. However, I should warn you that your emotions are probably going to be very expressive over the next at least three days... you may cry, you may laugh for no reason - you're essentially going to be processing all those trapped emotions to release them all... so you're going to be a bit random for awhile. Just breathe through each expression. Whatever you do, DO NOT STOP IT. Don't block it, don't repress it. If you have to go into another room or something, that's fine, but don't repress it at all. Just let everything flow. Stuck emotions at this stage could actually damage the newly healed area worse than the original experiences did. So don't repress - no bottles for you.
And thank you. I really love doing what I do.
Oh.... drink lots of water, too. Releasing toxins requires replenishing those fluids to flush everything clean.

JANE:
I'm looking forward to it.
That was going to be a little snarky, but I think I really am.

ME:
I think you're ready to move on... that level of crap was just holding you back SO much, and you knew it.

JANE:
Yes. I'm ready to move forward and get on with what ever's coming next.

ME:
Right. I'm now going to check the five main connections between your heart and your throat chakras.

JANE:
Okay
Betcha it's a mess.

ME:
There's a blockage in the outside pingala, but honestly the connections look fine other than that. I'm removing that blockage now, and then we'll look at your throat.
(Again, a simple reaching in, and pulling out. Connie 2 turned out to be faster on the draw for this one... I'm going to have to work with Connie 3 - it's new and doesn't seem to be getting a fair share of the snacks..)
OK. Much better flow. On to the throat itself.
The first thing that I notice is that it is a very dark blue, instead of a light blue. Dark blue means fear of the future, fear of self-expression, fear of facing or speaking the truth. It suggests blockages (which we expected) pertaining to self-expression... all those things you thought and felt and never spoke about, so you could have the illusion of peace in your relationships... but which eventually destroyed any real peace, AND the illusions.

JANE:
Exactly
It never seemed to be worth the fight.

ME:
If it's not worth the fight... it's not worth sticking around. Promise yourself, from now on... if you cannot tell the truth... if it isn't worth the fight... you won't stay, you won't make excuses for yourself or for them... you'll just go. That way, you can be happy, and so can they.
The other solution to this chakra is a simple one. Start a diary. In it, write what you really think and feel. There are times, places, situations, where you just cannot speak the truth - your truth, or any other version.... so you need a place where you can be absolutely honest with yourself at all times... a place where you can get all that off your chest... and by doing so, take the temperature of your situations. If you find yourself writing in it too many negative things... you know there's something you need to do to get out of that rut. That's when you decide if something's worth a fight or not.

JANE:
Okay, I can do that.

ME:
Write LOADS of snark. You'll feel better with it out of your system, instead of stuck in you.

JANE:
lol I like that idea.

ME:
If you can... make it funny. Don't make it bitter or angry, because that just encourages you to dwell on it. Also, try to understand that you are writing YOUR truth... try to see theirs, too.

JANE:
I'm usually funny - coping mechanism. I know they are doing the best they can with who they are.

ME:
Of course they are... but you still have to get it off your chest.
OK... so we've talked about the issue with your throat chakra, and we've got a plan of longterm action (including fun bits). Ready for me to change the color and get it up and running right?

JANE:
Yes, please!

ME:
Wonderful! OK. Starting now.
(Again, a simple act of will and persuasion - "This is the color you should be. This is how you should feel. This is how to speak the truth. She promises to express herself more. You can let go of this negativity. I'll take that blockage - you don't need it anymore..." Slowly the color shifted, the chakra came into balance, and everything settled.)
OK... there we go. Yawn for me... it might make you cough up a little bit of air - that's just the dust clearing.
BIG yawn, please. This will clear out that last chunk of excess energy.

JANE
Okay

ME:
Perfect.

JANE:
I'm feeling SO much better.

ME:
OK. I'm now going to check the connections between your throat and your third eye. I believe the damage to your third eye actually included a channel between your third eye and crown. I'll take care of that shortly. And I'm glad you're feeling better. At the end of the service, I actually fire up your chakras and trigger a mild kundalini release to make sure everything's good - which as a side effect, polishes the chakras and your aura. Then I shut everything down to normal and we're done. I like the chakra services. They seem to help so many people.
Checking those throat to eye connections now.
OK... the ida, the pingala, AND the sushumni are all dislocated. This will take a moment. I was expecting the issue to be higher, not lower. It may have spread from the initial area. Too much energy released too suddenly in a system that was unprepared, and the energy wasn't tamed or gentled.
(This takes me a little while - you can't just snap a limb, especially a psychic limb, back into place. You have to numb the area. You have to slow the energy flowing to that area so the sudden rush doesn't blow your work. Then you have to release it gently. You have to soothe the twitches away. The finer nadirs - and the Ida and Pingala are MUCH smaller than the Sushumni - are especially vulnerable.)
OK. Repairing now.

JANE:
okay

ME:
I hope you don't mind but I'm dumping the excess energy into your aura... this will probably give you a hot flash, but it's better than leaving it in your head. I can't BELIEVE you haven't been getting migraines.

JANE:
Thanks

ME: .
lol Sorry dear.
OK... that's the ida and pingala done - they're the tiny side channels. Here's the sushumni - this one's going to be the one that really raises your roof because it's the large central channel. Got that water handy? I'm going now.
There. That's done. Have that water. When the heat dies down a little, let me know.

JANE:
Heat's not bad, just a little tender in the third eye area.

ME:
Yeah. Ready for me to check that out?

JANE:
Yes

ME:
OK - it's a dark blue, almost midnight. It's very active, but blocked. I'm going to reach inside and remove the... scunge will do.

JANE:
Yuck. Okay.

ME:
I"m now going to very gently stabilize the chakra, because it's overactive. The soothing should relax things in your head and the tightness by your ears should decrease.
(Having pulled out all the... scunge... I slowed the speed of the chakra, filled it with blue peace, soaked it in relaxation.)
There. That's the normal level of speed for your current energetic development. Much better.
Brightening up the color now.
(And here, I altered the color just slightly, to a brighter shade.)

JANE:
Ah, I didn't realize how tense I was until it stopped. Thank you.

ME:
No trouble. Ok.. color is good, rotation is normal... I think this chakra's good to go. Before we hit the crown, would you mind taking a brief check of your chakras, and letting me know if, after the third eye, you feel that any of the other chakras need a slight adjustment?
(Remember what I said about checking back on your work? Encouraging the client to get familiar with what healthy and unhealthy chakras feel like, getting them to check with you, and boosting their confidence by confirming what they discover in themselves - they're seldom wrong, I've discovered, due to the mind-body-energy relationship - is also a huge thing. Encouraging people to listen to their bodies and their energies and take charge of their own health is vital in this day and age, where people are raised to ignore themselves until they're dying.)

JANE:
Root and heart, maybe. They feel a little heavy. (Nail on the head.)

ME:
OK. One moment while I balance those two out.
(Did some minor adjustments to the root, and re-cleansed the heart, which had become blocked again.)
Better?

JANE:
Yes, teared up a little and released.

ME:
Wonderful. OK. I'm going to check the connections between your third eye and your crown now.
(This one was... a bit of a mess. The moment I touched it, I didn't really have time to talk.)
OK... I'm going to open this up and work on it and then explain afterwards, this time.

JANE:
Okay

ME:
OK. All fixed. You had a dislocation in the sushumni, and I rather thought that it might affect the third eye and the rest of the system if I didn't just go ahead and fix it all at once. So... your sushumni is relocated in the correct position, the veil has been removed from your crown that separates what you think you know from all that is known, all your chakras are currently open, balanced, and seem to be functioning in good order, and after I centered and grounded your system, there was a good kundalini flow once I aligned it properly. Before the alignment, it actually kinked towards your right back shoulderblade, but that shouldn't happen anymore.

JANE:
Wonderful!

ME:
So... all that's left is for you to check my work, and tell me if there's any areas you would like more attention paid to, and ask me any questions you have... and then I'll shut things down to normal functioning level and we'll be done.

JANE:
Would you check the root and sacral once more? I'm feeling a pull in the right kidney area.

ME:
Sure. One moment.
(Her root had become slightly dislocated. This is actually very common when working on the system of someone who isn't completely comfortable with their physical body - working on the chakras actually makes them hyper aware of their physical shell, which can make them panic subconsciously, and create rejection, thus dislocating the root chakra. I nudged it back into place, and then... "stickied" it, for lack of a better term.)
There... your root wasn't quite seated correctly. Just have to do a quick check of the channels...
And we're good. Check one last time for me?

JANE:
Heart's heavy again.
Stubborn things, aren't they?

ME:
Yeah... I think that's going to keep happening. The issue is that as the heart clears, more comes in. As above, so below... you've been creating your heavy heart for a long time, so you have a lot of energy to release from above before it will be stabilized. I can try and remove some of the energy from the higher layers... but ultimately, your mind is what put that energy there. It's your mind that has to change. I'm going to remove the energy that I can for now. *hugs*

JANE:
Thanks. I'll be working on it, and do all your suggestions.

ME:
(I reached into the heart chakra, and separated it into the seven layers of the physical body. I cleansed all the excess energy and blockages, focusing especially on negativity, from all seven layers. I stepped up into the mental plane. I repeated the process. I stepped up into the emotional plane, and repeated the process. I stepped into the astral plane, and repeated the process. I stepped into the spiritual plane, and repeated the process. I then drew everything back together again, and stepped back into myself.)
OK. That should be better. Best I can do for now.
Hang on... I'm going to try one more thing. I didn't think of it before.

JANE:
That's great, more than enough really. I have a lot to work on, and I appreciate it so so much. Thank you! *hugs*
Hanging on...

ME:
I need to ask you something. Are you truly willing to let this construct, and all the energy that you put into it, go?
I can't do this without permission. It's not my energy to take. It's only yours to let go of.

JANE:
Yes. Tell me how?

ME:
Just say out loud, I no longer need this. I release it, I set myself free of my own free will. I choose a different way from this moment on.

JANE:
I did.

ME:
(The moment the energy released, I stepped into the timeless place between all things - I stepped into the As Above place, and I began to draw all that negative heart energy to me. I gathered it up, and began to change it - energy cannot be created or destroyed... but it can be transmuted. I began to soften the energy, and make it lighter, brighter, more hopeful, happier. I began to make it loving, cherished energy. As much as I could, I took the energy completely out of her path, and sent it back into the universe to be reused somewhere else for another purpose... but what I had to leave behind, I suggested change into something healthier for her, something that would be for her highest good.)
Done. Just cleansing it now. But it shouldn't bother you so much anymore. I couldn't take all of it and cleanse it and redirect it, but I did what I could.
OK. Ready for me to close you up?

JANE:
So much better. Thank you.
Yes.

ME:
OK. CLosing you up now.
(This part is the simplest. Again, because she runs energy upwards, I bowed to her root chakra first, and said thank you, and it relaxed into quiescence. I repeated this process for her entire system, followed by laying a shimmer on her aura and chakras that would allow her protection while she recovered and adapted to the changes made during the session.)
OK, dear. All done.

JANE:
Thank you for all your hard work. I was more of a mess than I thought.

ME:
Nah. Most people are three hour jobs while I TALK... you, we both had to type, which takes a LOT more time - and you were still all patched up in an hour and a half. You weren't that messy comparatively speaking. Honestly, given a choice between your chakras, and the chakras of someone who does combat magick... I'll take yours EVERY day - just because you can treat combat magick messes doesn't mean it's FUN. Well, OK, it is, I like the challenge... but I like the easy stuff, too.
You are very welcome, it was no trouble - easy as pie.
Blessings, dear. I'm for a large glass of water, some protein, and a nap. You should do the same.

It should be noted that throughout this service, I use the word WILL to describe how I encourage the body to behave the way it should normally behave in healthy circumstances of mind and spirit. This does NOT mean I approach energy with a heap-big bangstick. WILL does not mean FORCE. All manipulations of the chakra system should be done with great delicacy and attention to detail. Always be gentle, never force anything to do what you need it to do. The more you shove things around, the more you use your ego instead of your compassion, and the more you treat a human like a machine, the more damage you will do to that system. Each time I reach out and touch a client, I make sure that my energy is tuned to their exact frequency, so there's no chance of rejection. I make sure that I'm working WITH their energies and their psyches to repair the damage to their structure. I finagle. I guide. I gently suggest. I know exactly what should go where, and how, and why... but always, though I will a certain thing to be so, I accept that ultimately, this is someone else's body I'm working inside... and their choices are final. I'm particular, persnickety, and a perfectionist, and I treat what I'm doing like it's neurosurgery with a laser. If I'm even a millimeter off, the results could be catastrophic for the person I'm working on. Will is nothing without control... and will that is just brute force isn't will at all... it's just a buffalo in a china store.

If your chakra is blocked or there is a problem with it, when you look at it or feel it, it will feel/look smudged, or you will feel pain associated with the area, or tightness, like a lump in your chest for a blocked heart chakra. Look for dark patches where the glow is diminshed or even extinguished.

If you can visualize your chakras and get nice sensations with those visualizations, chances are that your imagination is not in overdrive, but fairly accurate. If you're concerned about the health of your chakras, simply do a cleansing and clearing exercise in addition to your usual meditation work, every time you work with them. Cleansing and clearing should be done daily, anyway. Trust me, if your chakras start having issues, you'll know. It'll start with emotional and mental issues, and swell into physical issues. There will be emotional swings, negative thoughts associated with the particular chakra, and then physical feelings - first almost like indigestion, slowly swelling to actual physical illness. You can check out google, as many websites mention the side-effects of having an imbalanced chakra and include the physical diseases... for example, if your solar plexus gets blocked enough to become unbalanced, you can end up with not only feelings of codependency and victimhood/powerlessness, but also diabetes and gall stones. See how it works?

I always SUGGEST to my chakras that they close after I'm finished working with them, but as with the elements and deities, it's always a: close if you will, stay open if you must, kind of thing. They'll slowly dial back down on thier own when they're ready. Forcing them open or closed, and I don't mean the gentle coaxing/asking but actual force, will cause blockages. Most meditations don't mention closing them because most practitioners know that as you leave meditational space, and your brain ramps back up from theta levels to alpha levels, the chakras tend to close up on their own, because you're becoming more connected to this here/now reality and less connected to your internal energetic reality. There's less energy flow - not much, but it does become reduced - so they slowly ramp down. I, personally, prefer to, as a part of the meditation, just because I'm a neat and tidy kind of personality, ask them to close up before I begin to lift myself up out of that space. But that's just me. It's not necessary.

If you're having pain in your body and a headache, and if you've already looked at all the possible physical causes - activity, environment, diet, etc (for example, sometimes pressure changes can cause headaches and body aches, and sulfurous foods like red wine and eggs can cause migraines), it is definitely time to check for energetic issues. Pain during energetic practice can be for several reasons, the two most common being blockages, and not being centered and grounded.

If you're new to chakra work, you're probably not ready for balancing work, which should only be done by a really advanced practitioner, because if you get it wrong, you can throw your whole system out of wack, and that's not fun. One overbalanced chakra throws out another, and another, and another, until you get a domino effect that can end in a drained chakra - and then you have to go find a professional to jumpstart the poor thing back into life... and rebalance your whole system. So, definitely not for rookies.

The balls of white light exercise, with being grounded and centered, can also be supported by a third cleansing exercise, where you imagine a very fine net of cleansing energy undernieth your prone body. I like to make my net out of colors that are used in healing, like blue and green and purple - but white is fine. Raise the net up through your body, picturing it collecting all the muck as it goes. Take your time - be careful and smooth, and as thorough as you can be. Once you've raised the net up and out the front of your body, either send it back to the universe to be cleansed and repurposed, or imagine it going into the earth, to be cleansed and repurposed there. I like to use the phrase "I release this energy back into the 'wherever' to be cleansed and repurposed, for the highest good of all, with unconditional love." You don't absolutely have to, but it's nice to know you're suggesting/willing that that muck can do some good elsewhere, in a better form.

Dealing with Imbalance Within a Chakra (This talks about the solar plexus, but the website linked also has a series of links to articles about the individual chakras which covers the physical, psychological, and spiritual issues associated with an imbalanced chakra. They are on the left side of the page, and I seriously recommend reading them all.

http://www.colourtherapyhealing.com/col ... chakra.php

Read that link first. With an imbalance in the chakra, there could be physical side effects, so if you start to notice any of these issues:
•Diabetes.
•Pancreatitis.
•Liver disease.
•Peptic ulcer.
•Coeliac's disease.
•Gall stones.
See a doctor. Immediately. Keep working on the chakra, but see a doctor.

That having been said, here are the exercises.

Grounding and Centering (Basics)
Even though it's always referred to as Grounding and Centering, actually the best way to do this is always to center first. Grounding and Centering should be a daily practice for anyone who does any energy work at all... and meditation is energy work. Grounding and Centering should also be done EVERY TIME YOU DO SOME KIND OF ENERGY WORK. Before AND after. ALWAYS. I can't stress that enough.

Just in case you're still not sure what these terms are, or how to practice them, I'm gong to give you the barebones basics anyway... repeating the basics over and over is never a bad thing. A review even when you've been doing something for 20 years is always helpful, and new perspectives on an old practice can be useful and enriching.

Centering is, at its base, becoming aware of yourself. In most spiritual practices this involves connecting to the solar plexus, and the center channel running through all of the 12 major chakras, minus the hands. However, if you try to force yourself into your center, you're going to slide off or around. Centering is more about relaxing, diffusing, and sinking in than about force. Your chakras will respond with equal force to what you are applying, so the more you try to shove your way into your navel, the more you will spin, and dislocate. So... go back to breathing and relaxation. When you're relaxed enough, sink into your center. Become connected to YOU. Even if you don't really know who you are anymore because life has changed so much lately, at the core of yourself, you are still YOU. Sink into that. There is, in all of us, a timeline... and when we look at the timeline, we can see how our thoughts, attitudes, beliefs, actions and statements change over the years... but we can also see how our core selves stay the same. There are some things about us that never change. No matter the external pressures put on us, we are still ourselves.

THAT is what you connect to when you center.

Problems:
If, when you try to center, everything starts spinning around you, or YOU start spinning... it's ok. You cannot stop the tide from flowing. But you can make it pause long enough for you to align yourself with it, become one with it, and join the flow. Don't try to put up a wall and stop one spot. Stop the whole thing at once. You'll "hear" a POP, almost like the sound a dislocated limb might make when it pops back into place... and then you'll suddenly be centered.

If you find yourself slightly above or below your body, floating, and unable to sink into your solar plexus or central channel, I find that visualizing an old-style set of scales between where I am and where my center channel is, and KNOWING that those scales are representative of the balance of energy between myself and my center, is very helpful. I can shift the energy from one side to the other, until the scales come into balance, and again, POP, I'm in my center.

Grounding is acknowledging your connection to the world around you. Your body, whether you are an evolutionist or a creationist, is made up of earth. When it stops, it will go back to being earth. Whether you believe that the big bang happened or not, all things were created out of energy first, and became matter. All things come from the light that came after the darkness. If you're of a scientific bent, then at the beginning, after the big bang happened, everything was so close together that light couldn't shine... it was only after it cooled down a little and spread out that light flamed into being. When light flamed into being, slowly matter left over from the big bang coalesced into clouds, and then into stars, and then with the deaths of those stars, the byproducts created more dust, which coalesced into more stars, and eventually planets, and those planets eventually gave rise to us. We are connected, by this, to both the earth, the stars, and the moment the universe began. Without any of those things, we would not exist.

If you're a creationist... well, Divinity created light, and then earth, and then man out of earth... And with the breath of the divine within man, man came alive. Therefore, as an artist cannot create that which it is not, you are light, and earth, and the spark of God. With grounding, we connect to those elements. We connect to, by either belief, the earth and the creative moment where we began.
Grounding is always done both ways... think of it like poles... you have a crown that's connected to the divine, the center of the universe, the creative spark, the eternal wisdom, or however you want to look at it... and you have a root that is connected to the earth. I have to connect UP first, and THEN down, or I get a headache. Most people connect to Earth first, and then the heavens. Do it the way that is most effective for you.

Grounding begins with expansion. You are centered. You know that chakras, with the exception of the Ajna chakra between your physical eyes, all take in energy from the back, and express it out the front. The Ajna chakra, being the root of the subconscious, actually goes backwards and draws in from the front and expresses out the back... but we won't be working with that chakra so don't worry about it. To expand, you need to, while centered, draw in energy. Use your breath, and visualization, to open all your chakras, one at a time, and encourage them to draw in energy from the back, but the one you're really going to focus on drawing energy into, from your crown down and your root up, is the solar plexus. All that energy, from your back, from your breath, from your crown down and your root up, needs to pool into your solar plexus, where you reside. This will result in a steady GENTLE expansion of that chakra. When the chakra has filled your whole body with yellow light, so that it is dripping off your fingers and toes, pouring from your hair, and your aura has become golden, then it is time to ground.

Send that energy up and down. You may do this one at a time, or both at once. The idea is to connect to the core of the earth, and the core of the universe, using YOU energy. Once that connection is made, you then draw universal and earth energies, back into your solar plexus and center again.

To do the earth grounding, visualize yourself sinking into the very core of the earth, where the molten iron boils. Find a place to stand in all this firey earth, and dig your feet in. You can picture roots if you like, but the idea is to become one with the earth. Your feet merge with that spot, so that you cannot tell where one ends, and the other begins. There is a balancing of energy - yours to the earth's, and the earth's to yours. When the energy balances and stabalizes, you'll feel clean and refreshed, and ready for the next step, which will be UP. Come back up to your solar plexus, through your root, but STAY CONNECTED TO THE EARTH.

Now, look to the center of the universe, the heart of God, the source emanation, the big bang, or however you want to define it. Look for a core of light. The light is so bright, you can barely look at it. Enter the light, and repeat the same process, this time with your crown, that you did with your feet in the earth. Come back, maintaining your connection to the Universe, and center again.
This is the process of grounding and centering.

Grounding and centering should be a daily practice, even for a master-level practitioner. It should be done before and after any energetic work. Meditation, healing, spells, conjuring, and even has practical uses outside of the energetic world. Ground and center before a job interview, and afterwards. Ground and center before and after a party where you'll be meeting new people, or being around people you don't feel comfortable with. Ground and center if you've had a sudden fright. Ground and center when you have to have a heavy discussion with your spouse, or after a fight with your child. Any place where you are going to express emotional, mental, or spiritual energy, ground and center before and after. Going to run a race? Ground and center first. It'll give you more oomph to hit the track and GO! And then ground and center afterwards, to help flush yourself out and calm down your body. Grounding and centering has multiple uses outside the magickal community, so don't be shy about practicing it anytime you feel you need a little moment to collect yourself.

Problems: Most people don't go deep enough. They connect only on the surface. As long as your visualization is clear and you're intent is to connect to the cores you're working with, this shouldn't be a problem... but always aim for deeper and deeper. You will, with practice, grow out of shallow grounding.

Cleansing and Clearing (Moderate)
Now that you are correctly grounded and centered... it's time to clear out the blockages. The first way is a general cleansing... It cleanse all your chakras, your aura, and all your bodies at once.
Picture two balls of white light... one arising from the earth, one from the core of the universe. They are as wide as your aura.

If you don't know how large your aura is, stick your arms out to your sides like you're about to do jumping jacks, but turn your palms towards each other. SLOWWWWWLY bring them together in front of you, paying very close attention to the moment your hands begin to feel sensation. It could be vibration, tingles, warmth, coldness, thickness, but you will feel SOMETHING. If you don't... keep trying. The moment you feel your aura, you'll know the size of your aura. Keep in mind that with meditation, grounding and centering, and doing other forms of energy work, including this cleansing exercise, your aura will grow. Check periodically to see if you need to make larger balls.

You can do this next step one of two ways. You can run the balls through one at a time, or you can do them both at the same time... the second way is more difficult to visualize, but much more effective. So... you have your two balls of white light, one from the earth, one from the universe/god/whathaveyou. Draw the balls into your body. As you do this, visualize all of your chakras spinning open. The earth ball starts 12 inches below your feet (remember you're cleansing your aura and all three bodies with this) and the sky ball starts 12 inches above the gold chakra that's six inches above your head.
Visualize your other two bodies aligned with your physical body for this. Don't worry about seeing their chakras yet... that comes with practice. Just try to see the three bodies and how they intersect.
Now, pull the two balls of white light through your system. The head one goes down and out your feet, and into the earth. The foot one goes up and out your head, and into the universe. Do you remember the laundromat, with the washing machines with their glass doors? How you could see the clothes, the water, the soap, all being tumbled and tumbled as the washer cleansed the clothes? These balls are washing balls. They roll and tumble on the inside, and as they roll and tumble, filling your system with clean white light, they soak up all the ick, and keep it separated, so that when they finally go into the earth or into the sky, you're clean, and the ick is gone. As you release the balls back into the earth and sky, say "I release this energy back into the universe, to be cleansed and repurposed, for the highest good of all, with unconditional love." You don't have to say it out loud, but the intent has to be there.

Next, remember I explained before about energy (except for the Ajna) being recieved from your back, and being radiated out your front? Well, when you cleanse a really bad blockage from a chakra, it helps to take a ball of white light, and run it through that particular chakra, in that direction... again, start beyond your aura, and move through the chakra, feeling for the clog. Let the ball of white light gather up the clog, cleanse, clear, and re-energise the chakra, and be radiated out the front. Say: "I release this blockage back into the universe, to be cleansed and repurposed, for the highest good of all, with unconditional love."

Once you're done cleansing and clearing... two things need to happen. First, let your chakras gently close up again. Second... I would recommend that you put up a shield of some kind to protect yourself from getting personal power blockages again. You can either collar the chakra, or ward your whole aura. Your choice. And then you have to start making choices to stand up for yourself. Be clear. Be respectful. But stop letting him push you around. Stand your ground. Don't pick fights, but draw your boundaries clearly, and STICK TO THEM. Take back your power, and don't give it away anymore. Read anything you can about personal responsibility and how choices and perspectives are entirely self-created, from decision to result. Then start making better choices, and changing your perspectives. Your world does not have to have you as the powerless victim. You are much greater, much stronger, much brighter than that. You are divine. You are stardust. You were there when the big bang happened. You were with the word when it created light. You are of the earth, and the earth is you. You, my dear, are power incarnate. Whether you accept that and begin to use it is up to you.

Balancing the Chakra (Advanced)
Finally, because you have already mentioned that you have this blockage, and that's usually a sign of imbalance, both in your mental self and your energetic self, and since you're already working on resolving the situational/psychological issues that created the blockage, when you are ready, you might try this.

Sink into the chakra. Consider it, from back to front. Is there an imbalance in how much energy it is drawing in from the back, versus how much energy it is producing out the front, that might cause it, beyond your real-life issues, to become blocked? Use the scales imagery I suggested earlier. If there is an imbalance, correct it... GENTLY. Be VERY delicate. This is, as I said, an advanced technique. Use as LITTLE power as you possibly can. Think laser surgery, not civil-war surgery.

Now... what about left and right? Aside from the main channel that connects your solar plexus to your sacral and heart chakras, and runs through the rest of your center following your spine, there are two smaller channels that spiral around the center channel, cris-crossing in a DNA pattern, from one chakra to the next. Is the flow of energy from your solar plexus chakra flowing equally towards both these channels?

Is your solar plexus balanced well between your heart and your sacral plexus?

If you can see minor chakras, like the shoulder chakras, the hip chakras, and the like, how well is the solar plexus balance with those? If you can't see them, that's ok. Work on the balances you CAN see. Think of this like a tune up. When your chakras are correctly balanced, with themselves and each other, it balances everything else.

Of course, you need to keep in mind that just as your energetic system can affect your mental state and your physical body, your physical body and mental state can have an effect on your chakra system. Always, when working with your chakras, check to see the true source of the problem. Even if you need to do some kind of cleansing or tuneup work, clearing up the TRUE source of the problem will go a long way towards clearing up the issue... and leaving the real problem unresolved will mean you keep having to go back to the drawing board over and over again. Don't just make the bed look pretty... change the sheets once in a while. lol

Finally, as a recommendation, you need to know more about chakras.

The Chakra Bible by Patricia Mercier
Working with Your Chakras by Ruth White
Kundalini and the Chakras by Genevieve Lewis Paulson
The Healer's Manual by Ted Andrews

Those books should give you a well-rounded foundation on the chakra system and self-healing techniques. Even if you never lay hands on another person, it's an excellent idea that everyone know a little about their own energetic anatomy and how to keep it tidy.

I don't usually work with stones, but I do have a chakra stone kit somewhere... If you respond well to gemstones, you might consider getting a chakra stone kit with the some of the following stones:

Tiger Eye - Lower Chakras (1,2,3)
Red Jasper - Root Chakra (1)
Hematite - Sacral Hara Chakra (2)
Carnelian - Sacral Hara Chakra (2)
Orange Calcite - Solar Plexus Chakra (3)
Citrine - Solar Plexus Chakra (3)
Rose Quartz - Heart Chakra (4)
Aventurine - Heart Chakra (4)
Blue Agate - Throat Chakra (5)
Sodalite - Throat & Third Eye Chakras (5, 6)
Amethyst - Crown Chakra (7)
Clear Crystal Quartz - All Chakras

My kit also includes Kyanite for balancing and opening all chakras, Seraphinite for helping them function at their highest vibration, Selenite for the left palm and right palm chakras (one piece is clear, the other is white), a chunk of Silver for the silver chakra below the root, a piece of Jet for the chakra below that one, and a Gold bead for the chakra above my crown.

For the correlations to the extra chakras, this chart is kinda handy:

Maybe you written it somewhere and I overlooked it but, what if your chakras are closed or damaged and you try to activate the kundalini energy,
would you say go for it or would you say don`t do it because...
Can it make the chakras even worse or would it cleanse and repair the chakras?

There are two possibilities, and they depend on the types of blockages you're dealing with.

The prevalent belief about kundalini is that it does actually cleanse your chakras. However, there is a lesser-known belief that kundalini can get stuck, and cause a host of difficulties - but it doesn't get stuck in the chakras, it gets stuck in the nadirs - the ida, pingala, and sushumni. Essentially, if you've got a clog in your pipes, then kundalini backs up behind the clog, and causes a whole bunch of physical, mental/emotional, and spiritual issues - which is why cleansing the nadirs is so vital.

If you do have a block in the ida, pingala, and/or sushumni, alternate nostril breathing is the solution. It is 100% effective, within five minutes. It can also assist with moving blockages out of the chakras, through the nadirs, and out of your body and your aura, though with the chakras more work will be required.

Your chakras get blocked because of a bunch of things, but most often it's mental. For instance, if you don't feel safe where you live, you're going to have a blockage in your root. If you have social anxieties, that's going to be reflected in your sacral and solar plexus chakras, depending on the root cause of those anxieties... and so on.

What this means is that even when you cleanse and clear a blockage from a chakra, if you do not work on WHY it got clogged in the first place, THE BLOCKAGE WILL COME BACK.

This is why energetic healing often takes multiple visits to clear an issue - it's a function of as below, so above - you cleanse the chakras, and then you do it again, and again, and again, until the original emotional block begins to fade because the chakras, your energy, and your mind, learn a new way to function without the block. It's a lot like physical therapy to correct a postural issue. If you're in pain, you change your posture. Eventually, the posture sets in, your bones and muscles and tendons adjust, and you acquire a permanent change, even if your original pain is resolved. This creates more pain in new areas. So you go to physical therapy to retrain your body how to stand, how to walk, how to sit - so that those new pains go away, too - but this takes time and hard work.

Blockages and closed chakras are exactly the same - it takes time and hard work to root out the psychological and emotional damage that caused the shut down and blocks - but just like any other emotional and psychological work, clearing one block may reveal another and another. The work is never truly done - but it's important and you should absolutely do it for the sake of your mental health and happiness.

So... absolutely go for kundalini release - but remember that with all that emotional shut down you have in your chakras, kundalini release affects your mental state. You're already unstable or you wouldn't have closed off or blocked up chakras. It's probably better to work on the chakras and then the kundalini.

You can do it the other way around - blocked chakras don't cause kundalini issues - but I wouldn't personally recommend it, because of the psychological effects of kundalini release. Just remember, the only blockages that affect kundalini release are in the nadirs, and that alternate nostril breathing will solve those.

Be well :)
