I thought some of us might enjoy these pointers -- I recall a recent discussion about building home altars but not sure where. She has some excellent advice and I imagine if you need to be discreet you can turn it toward a wall, put a cloth over it, and call it a nightstand. Hers is a Hindu Mandir, the video is in Hindi with English subtitles.

Wow.

I was planning a Hindu style Mandir in my home as well. Your clip has made me think about it. And since it is Friday afternoon, heading towards a bright and sunny weekend I decided to take a look:

Etsy has some beautiful ones. https://www.etsy.com/shop/AakaarExquisites/items

It isn't cheap though - you could create a very nice one with a wall cabinet from IKEA on the cheap.

Good video. The idea of an alter within a western home is largely non existent anymore. Even a mainstream religious person (western beliefs) is unlikely to have a place of worship within their home.

I believe it adds value. It provides a focal point for one's mind that is free from the clutter of day to day existence.
