I've been thinking lately about what (little) I know about demons since reading the forum. Evenmoreso about the strange introduction I had from a certain person who is no longer a presence on the internet as far as I know. I received a lot of misinformation, but I can at least credit this person for introducing me to Marbas.
I say "this person" because it was a girl wanting to be a guy, and I have strong opinions which I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings with ... but this particular person was not right in the head, and openly admitted to having mental problems and taking medications. Former roommates and former friends also came forward and reported odd and abusive behavior, stolen ideas/UPG, and how this person would continue to change names and resurface in the pagan community (as well as having different "problems" or "genders" to use to manipulate people with so it's hard to say if this person is legitimately trans or just jumps on whatever bandwagon will be useful at the time). Not long after this blew up, this person shut down their blog and Etsy store. Anybody who remembers this person will recall how overdramatic and self-important all the writings were, and it doesn't take a psychology degree to figure out that it was to make up for a poor childhood or bullying or whatever. Not to mention all the devotional writings and astral experiences were extremely pervy and focused on sex.
Unfortunately though, it led to a lot of BS confusion for people trying to seriously learn about Loki and gods and demons and whatever.

This person claimed:
- to be a son of Loki by a female elf of the "Cat Tribe" of Vanaheim, and that he has an elf brother named Clarence
- to be married to a demon named D'gras Yanlin, who had not only assisted the Aesir and the Vanir, but who also used to hold the title of Lucifuge Rofocale [for the longest time he hid the identity of this demon, calling him only D]
- that if you called upon a demon lord or lady, they are so busy that one of their staff would probably answer instead in their name and you'd never know it
- according to other blogs, this person wrote incorrect or stolen gnosis about demons, the Hell Court, and particularly Asmodeus
I seem to recall that this person got some of the genders backwards or interchangeable as well.

I suppose one positive is that this person sparked an interest in demons, and I do remember some basic Goetic info being posted, and also you could buy candles, incense, and sigll necklaces in the Etsy store to get you started with connecting. Unfortunately this person overcharged for jewelry, and one of the bs excuses was that you should spend a lot on your gods because it made the gift more meaningful. *rolls eyes*

Here! Drop that crap in this hole right here, and keep the part where you came HERE to really learn about demons! (((hugs)))
Glad you wanted to learn the truth.

Do not rely on ANYTHING, unexamined. If It does not seem to fit, ask about it. If it ultimately degrades or dishonors or holds you back, it is bad for you, so remove it from your life. If it takes from you and never gives back, it is a leech. Discard it. In magick rely only on your own work: What you have seen and done and used for your own self and in your own way. Only keep what in your own estimation is worth keeping. (Hellcat's Rules Of Satanic Magick)"

Don't get too close. It's Dark inside. It's where my Demons hide!

Oh wow! I don't know who this person is but yeah, that sounds like a pretty weird introduction!

From this list of claims, the only one that is true based on my experience is the fact that when calling on a spirit you may get someone who serves under them instead. Now whether it's because they are "busy" or for some other reason I don't know. But it does happen, and if you don't know the actual spirit very well you may never be able to tell the difference because they may look like the spirit, talk like the spirit, feel like the spirit and they will pass any testing method you may use to verify their identity (eg. asking them to write their name) because they have been granted the authority to stand for that spirit.

That's not always the case though; it's not a rule that they will always send someone else in their place. But it happens.

It didn't take me long to see red flags and feel like something wasn't right, but I was at a point where I was looking for a new path, looking for info and just really looking to belong, and I desperately stuck around hoping to fit in but it became more and more of a little clique of personal followers who seemed to share the same delusions somehow. There's a name for that mass sharing ... besides ass-kissing of course, lol.
I moved on, and kind of watched from the sidelines as that person went down, perhaps brought down by their own destruction, though I can't say if any one side had the whole truth.
Then I got into spirit-keeping (which funnily enough that person looked down upon as "trapping spirits"), but as you know the big CHeese site doesn't promote demons, but I saw this place mentioned enough that I finally got my lazy ass over here to learn more since there was quite a bit of opinions over there. No harm in civil discussions of course but it usually came down to "go visit S&S forum" lol.
I used to be Kemetic only. Then it was Loki only. But I have a soft spot for Pan too. Then I was quite surprised to be approached in Noc's oracle service by a Dark Lord from another pantheon, Lord Camazotz. And of course, I continue to think of Lord Marbas. But I want to be sure it is a calling and not just a cat-fetish. And I was buying lots of DA spirits/entities, and now have two demonics from Angeldark, and of course you know I can't seem to stop talking about my desire for a hellcat. Oh and imagine my surprise to win that imp conjure!
Being pagan for a long time, and knowing the gods I know, I certainly wasn't afraid of demons by any means, or thought of them as villains ... but I wouldn't say I am very knowledgeable either. I barely know many names or titles or what they do.
I love history and folklore, I love getting to the heart of things - why are holidays they way they are, why are cultural beliefs the way they are, how did religions evolve and legends get passed down, how much hidden knowledge is being uncovered, the truths of our ancestral history, how much Christianity has screwed everyone and everything over (like trying to dissect Norse religion from Christian overlay for example), etc.
Like I've known for years and years that Halloween is not a devil's holiday, that black cats aren't evil, that Samhain isn't a demon but a word, Satan isn't to blame for the world's problems, yadda yadda yadda. And you know as much as I weep for the innocents of the Mid East and Africa suffering from religious terrorism, I weep for the monuments too, the old gods and sacred places being destroyed.
Oh but I am learning that the Dark Lords and Ladies are indeed a busy bunch, and They may not always show when called. That's interesting to hear that They actually do send someone else in Their place once in a while. I would not mind a "message-taker" if that was made clear to me ... Actually the funny thing is I can't think of what to say so I haven't tried an actual meeting to have Someone show up, I just send a prayer or a thanks until I can think of something that wont waste Their time.

Heh that remind me of wolvy's story about his "friend"

Btw, love history and myth too, except accurate dates. Hard enough to memorize my family's birthday and other importance dates, now need to memorize from and to which year the crusader happened? No thank you :)devil:

Yes that was strange. I'm glad you are here to learn about demons the right way. This is a great place
for beginners. You'll get a lot of inaccuracies and fantasies out there. However I have heard that the dark
lords will send an representative at times. I'm not sure why that happens. They may be busy. I have not been
here for long but my knowledge is growing and I'm learning a lot.
