Relax if you need to play it off you probably can. Needing to lie about your path is a part of fitting into the "normal" world. Ask for help with your mom from the spirits you have or work with to have her stop pulling that BS on you is what I would do.

You sound pretty young so I'm sure moving out isn't an option, but crushes come and go if it's meant to be it'll work out. If you have to worry about little things pushing people away then it's not worth the hassle of making it work.

Luckily spirit keeping can be relatively invisible. I recommend you ask your spirits for help and in the meantime you lie and say you don't do it anymore. And keep doing it. All you truly need is your mind. Just call out their names (not out loud) and speak with them. They'll understand if you can't light incense or candles or leave offerings (which you can do discreetly).
