I'm just looking for guidance. I have fears and self-doubt and I'm not sure what to do.
Yesterday, in a Daemonlatry chat, someone asked me some questions. "Do you know where they got the name Balaam?" "Can you tell me something about him without mentioning the Goetia?" "Where do these spirits come from?" Of course I answered these, mentioning the lesser key of Solomon. Their answer was "no it's just a part of a whole, where they come from is actually the Torah." Of course I was skeptical, and researched if there's any mentio in the Torah of a demon or spirit with the name Balam/Balaam. I found nothing, all I found was that the book tells of a story of a wicked prophet with that name. Balam is a demon from Christian mythology (wouldn't it make more sense to study Christian mythology if I wanted to understand some of the history of these entities?), according to my research and as far as I know, he doesn't exist in the Torah. He recommended that I read Sefir Raziel, another religious Jewish book.
I felt humiliated for not giving satisfactory answers. To me, these Jewish religious books are not suitable for beginners and a waste of time. At most, Balam, or any other demon will be mentioned as evil spirits or spirits in general in 2-3 pages, if they're mentioned at all. They won't teach you the nature of these entities, their history, how to invoke them, etc. Am I wrong for thinking that?
Am I wrong?

I don't know who this individual was but I suggest paying him/her no mind. I don't talk to Satanists or LHP followers online because of those people. I'm even quite selective about what I post here because of that reason. Regardless of the fact that ours is a path of the self and our relationship with the infernal divine is no one else's business, people insist on shoving their ideals down your throat. If the Jewish ideologies this person mentioned don't resonate with you then fine, don't worry with them. Do your research, invoke, and make your own decisions. If you're not hurting others, then it is no one's right to order you around. Live your own life because you'll certainly die your own death. That's my motto.

Well my advice is - don't trust to not-LHP literature about demons because each of these books will tell you different story and also show demons as evil spirits. Even LHP literature contains a various stories and data about demons, but at least They are described in the way They are. As Divines. And it's pretty much what we, who follow this Path, know for sure. That they aren't dangerous. I suggest you to take all these stories with reserve, and if you feel comfortable to connect with particular Demon and ask Him things you want to know. That's surely the best source of information.
Also it's nothing wrong if you, with time, start to trust to particular story/book. As long as you enjoy it's content.

And yes, just like Hurricane said - don't take other people so serious. They don't share your path/gut necessarily. Sometimes they just want to confirm their attitude with some statements, or else, to "teach" you. Listen to them, think about the feeling you got about what they said, and then decide for yourself would it be your truth or not. Because it doesn't need to be the real truth.

It felt like they were preaching to me to be honest (of course, I didn't tell them that). It's more personal than it seems, Balam really is an entity that I fear disappointing (for reasons that are irrelevant to this topic) and him turning his back on me and deciding that I'm not worth his time would crush me. Otherwise, I would have just ignored them. It's almost like as if that person's words clicked an "on/activate" switch to inner fears that I never fully realized or noted that I've had.HurricanesGirl20 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 30, 2019 7:16 amI don't know who this individual was but I suggest paying him/her no mind. Just like hardcore RHP believers think angels are the goodest and nicest beings where in fact they can be dangerous and deadly, this too applies to the Dark Lords and Demons. They are very much dangerous if they want to be.Dimension VI wrote: ↑Wed Jan 30, 2019 7:48 am

Not everybody can work with every demons or demonic energy. Sometimes they are just dangerous by having a conflicting energy and sometimes they are dangerous because you got into it with the wrong crowd (which mostly concerns unbounds, be they Lords or 'normal' demons).
Saying they are not dangerous is too much of a generalization, tbh, that might make them cuddlyfluffy looking for the wrong people. You have to know how to handle their influence, their energies and everything and it's not for everybody.

I think that what they meant was that demons aren't the pure evil, embodiment of evil like they are thought to be and not that they are cuddly teddy bears or that they can't be dangerous. Could be wrong though.Aprophis wrote: ↑Wed Jan 30, 2019 8:29 amJust like hardcore RHP believers think angels are the goodest and nicest beings where in fact they can be dangerous and deadly, this too applies to the Dark Lords and Demons. I absolutely agree. Was talking about the people who know how to work with Them, who are attracted to Them naturally, by their own soul/will. Some people who don't have a clue about demons (and there are no such people at this forum, we all have already red about Them at least something before discovering this place) could invoke DL from fun and start to cuss at Them and make rude jokes, humiliate etc. There the danger lies of course.Aprophis wrote: ↑Wed Jan 30, 2019 8:29 amNot everybody can work with every demons or demonic energy. Oh damn. Can't edit anymore, so... Want to add at the previous post: Demons are not evil beings. Not even to God followers, people from Abraham religions. Of course if you humiliate or attack Them They won't turn the other cheek, but isn't it completely common thing.
